French: Christmas- Vocabulary and Activities

A fun activity to do with your students before the holidays and get into the Christmas spirit!

Included in this resource file:

• a vocabulary list, in .pdf format, on the topic of Christmas- Noël. The list covers 35 French words/ expressions on the topic, their translation in English and a small picture to illustrate the keyword.

• 3 versions of a worksheet in .pdf format. The different versions correspond to 3 levels of difficulty, allowing you to use with a range of classes and grades.

• answers (on the second page of the worksheet)

There are 4 activities on the worksheet:

• Match up the French keyword to the picture

• Unscramble the words to find the French vocabulary

• Find the French words in the Word search puzzle

• Fill in the gap in the French sentences/ translate the sentences in French

-10 keywords are covered in version 1, such as "le cadeau", le renne" and "le Père Noël".

-14 keywords are covered in version 2; with additional words such as " l'étoile" or "le gui".

-18 keywords are covered in version 3; with additional words such as " la cheminée" or "la messe de minuit".

These activities are aimed at grades 5-8.
