About This Product
Three bright, colourful Phonics Alphabet Mats to help teach Initial/beginning sounds mats for the early years/k/1 and special needs.
They help to encourage children to become familiar with the letters - their shapes, names and the sounds they represent.
Standards:
CCSS.RF.K.1d: Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet
CCSS.RF.K.3.a: Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
Uses for the alphabet mats
They can be laminated and made into mats, or used as charts to pin on the wall.
Great for home or school use.

What is included in the Alphabet Pack?
The pack contains 2 charts:
A chart of upper and lower case letters
A chart of lower case letters for phonic teaching. Pictures are placed near their initial sound as a reference.
Activities to do using the Alphabet Mats
1. Can the child point to the letter that represents the sound you say.
E.g. Can you point to the letter that says the sound ‘t’?
2. Can the child go through the alphabet saying the sounds of the letters as s/he points to them?
3. Can the child think of something other than the object pictured that begins with each sound?
4. Can the child find the letter you name? E.g. Can you point to the letter ‘Dee’?
5. Can the child go through the alphabet saying the names of the letters as s/he points to them?
6. Can the child say the alphabet without looking?
