Scientist Jane Goodall - Fact Sheet, Quiz & Interactive Version (PDF & H5P)

Jane Goodall – Chimpanzees, Field Research, and Conservation
Fact Sheet, Quiz & Interactive Exercises (PDF + H5P) 🐒🌿

This 45-minute resource introduces students in grades 7–10 to Jane Goodall – a pioneering primatologist whose long-term research with wild chimpanzees changed the way we understand animal behavior, intelligence, and emotions.

Many students are naturally curious about animals, but few know how much patience and observation go into real fieldwork. Goodall’s studies in Gombe showed that chimpanzees use tools, form social bonds, and even show emotions – insights that challenged the boundaries between humans and other animals. Her story also opens the door to conversations about conservation and what it means to protect endangered species.

To support students in exploring these topics, I’ve put together a ready-to-use lesson that includes a short informational text, a fact sheet, quiz questions with answers, and a creative partner task. All materials are provided in both color and black-and-white versions, plus there’s a digital H5P version for interactive use.

What’s included:

  • A student-friendly text about Jane Goodall and her research with chimpanzees

  • A fact sheet to help structure key information

  • Quiz questions with answer key for quick checks or review

  • A creative task where students design and exchange their own questions in pairs

  • Formats: Printable PDF and interactive H5P 💻

  • Answer key included ✅

I’ve used this resource when teaching about behavior, ecosystems, or research methods in biology. It also fits well in interdisciplinary lessons – for example, linking biology and ethics or exploring the role of women in science. The materials work well for partner work, independent study, or small group discussions.
