Letter Z Activities - Zebra, Zigzag, Zipper, and Zoo

All kids have to learn the alphabet before they can start reading. I like to create fun activities to make learning fun for students. These activities can be used with preschoolers, pre-readers, kindergarteners, and anyone (special needs, those struggling to read) at any age.

Even if your students aren't learning their alphabet, they may still enjoy coloring the pages and practicing their penmanship.

In addition to four different coloring pages, students will also have the opportunity to find the hidden Z through a letter hunt activity. Short sentences are on the coloring pages to help students practice reading or learning to read. The sentences are in the form of a question that gives children the opportunity to think about their answers. Thus, critical thinking skills will be developed.

These are simple activities that can be completed easily as part of a typical school day. They can also supplement your regular language arts, reading, and writing curriculum. Coloring is also considered a creative endeavor, and crafty children will enjoy coloring the pictures as well as answering the questions. Kids can also cut the pictures out to practice their scissor skills.
