Order of Operations with Fractions and Decimals Coloring Activity

This file contains a grid of 8 problems covering order of operations with fractions and decimals.  The grid also contains the answers and students are asked to color the problem and answer in the same color.  This encompases  three 5th grade math standards: 1) Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols. 2) Add and subtract fractions and decimals with unlike denominators., and 3) Multiply and divide fractions and decimals.  Fractions and decimals can be tricky, but practicing with the order of operations teaches students how to approach complex problems step-by-step. This enhances their ability to break down problems into manageable parts, improving problem-solving skills in general.  Fractions and decimals are commonly used in everyday life (e.g., in financial calculations, measurements, cooking, and shopping). A solid understanding of how to apply order of operations in these contexts helps students develop practical life skills. The coloring key is included.
