Savanna Animals Adaptations Worksheets
About This Product
Here is a great addition to your science curriculum. When teaching your grade 2 or grade 3 learners about animal adaptations and habitats, use these worksheets to enhance your lessons. They are cross-curricular to include reading, writing, science, and critical thinking. Your learners will enjoy reading about 8 animals in the Savanna habitat and their unique adaptations that allow them to live there. Reading passages for the armadillo, hyena, ostrich, rhinoceros, crocodile, zebra, lion, and meercat are included. Then, they’ll use one of three differentiated worksheets to list specific adaptations for the animals. As a way to prepare for the writing activity, learners can also complete the activity of not only listing adaptations for Savanna animals, but three animals that live in other habitats. Reading passages for the Snowy Owl, moose, and newt are included to aid your learners in this activity. Finally, learners will compare and contrast a Savanna animal and a non-Savanna animal in a brief writing activity. Once the activity is complete, they’ll have the opportunity to showcase their creativity by illustrating their writing. These print and go worksheets are the perfect way to round out your lessons on animal adaptations and/or the Savanna habitat. Not only that, but your learners also have the opportunity to work on one assignment that helps build skills in a variety of learning domains. All worksheets are available in a color version, as well as a black & white version. Both versions are identical. An answer key is not provided because answers will vary with each learner.
