Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Substitution Practice 1
About This Product
This resource Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Substitution Practice 1 focuses on solving systems of linear equations by using substitution. It includes six problems of just solving and then six word problems.
Students must assign of each variable represents, write two equations, and solve. There isn't room to solve the equations on the paper, but there are lines for each part of the answer which makes this worksheet easily graded. You may also choose to use this resource as solving systems of linear equations by elimination. Due to fractions and large numbers, I would not recommend using it for solving systems of linear equations by graphing.
This resource may be used between grade levels eight and through high school. Students will have a better understanding of how to solve systems of linear equations by substitution once they finish this practice. You may also use this resource as homework to reinforce what was taught in class.
What's Included
This file includes one worksheet. It is two sided and includes twelve problems. Six problems are simply solving. Six problems are word problems where students will define the variables, write two equations and solve. Spaces are available for students to write all their answers.
