Spanish Game to Learn Numbers 1-10 or 10-100!
About This Product
This is a simple but fun game (with a cultural component) to learn Spanish numbers 1-10 or 10-100 (by 10’s) out of order.
Widely popular Mexican alebrijes are whimsical carvings most often depicting fantastical animals with brightly colored, intricate designs. Alebrijes are typically made out of paper mâché, or carved out of wood, and are a modern cultural symbol of Mexico.
How to Play…
1. Print out the two game boards (either 1-10 or 10-100) and the pages of alebrijes on cardstock, so that you have two copies of each large alebrije. Laminate the game boards. Cut out and laminate the individual large alebrijes. Hang or place the alebrijes around the classroom, or outside in a designated area.
2. Break your class up into two teams of no more than 10 students per team, giving each team a game board. If you have a larger group, play two rounds.
3. Have teams stand in a line. One at a time, each team member must find an alebrije in order as illustrated on the gameboard (uno-diez or diez-cien). If a team member brings back the wrong alebrije (out of order) he/she must return the alebrije to where it was found and go to the back of the line.
4. The first team to find all 10 alebrijes in the correct order (1-10 or 10-100) wins!
Hand out the coloring pages at the end and have students color or paint the alebrije of their choice! (5 coloring pages to chose from!)
