"The Hero of the French and Indian War – Major Robert Rogers" - A History Play
About This Product
I use this interactive play to introduce someone to my students who is largely forgotten in
American History. His name is Major Robert Rogers. Rogers is one of the big heroes for the British and Americans during the French and Indian War. He was a living legend in his time.
In this play I have included printables/parts-of-and-anatomy-of">parts of his life during the French and Indian War including two of the most well-known events - his escape from capture in the Second Battle of Snowshoes and his raid on St. Francis. Rogers and his "Rangers" accomplished many tasks thought to be too difficult or outright impossible, but these two cemented his status as hero and legend.
Another part of the play explains a little about the Rangers (think special forces of the 18th century) and how Rogers took anyone - British, American, Native American - and any of these men could lead no matter their birth or race if they showed promise.
