About this resource
Write an opposite for each supplied word, then draw a picture that represents the antonym. The two responses let pupils show a word relationship in both language and an image. Ask them to explain how their drawing communicates the opposite meaning, especially when several answers might fit.
Curriculum reference — England: The drawings show understanding of opposite meanings, not merely copying a word list. Word-meaning discussion is a partial Year2 vocabulary connection; the activity does not cover the full reading programme. Selected skills only; reference stage is not an overall reading age, complete curriculum coverage, or an automatic recommendation for every learner.
