About this resource
These colour picture cards place singular and plural pictures together, including regular and irregular noun examples for comparison. Use them to introduce the word pairs, then separate or sort cards for oral naming practice. The images give pupils a concrete reference as they notice which nouns change form and which stay the same in the plural.
Curriculum reference — England: The images have no printed word labels; the teacher supplies oral examples and chooses the difficulty. Only regular s/es plural practice has an explicit Year1 connection here; irregular examples are supplementary, not covered by this expectation. Selected skills only; reference stage is not an overall reading age, complete curriculum coverage, or an automatic recommendation for every learner.
