The game comes as a PowerPoint Presentation, which is interactive when put on full screen (presentation mode) There are two versions of the game: version 2 is slightly more difficult than version 1 For each version: - There are 6 categories: Le calendrier, les fêtes religieuses, les fêtes laïques, la fête nationale, mon anniversaire and les festivals. - A total of 30 phrases to translate: 5 phrases to translate per aspect (level of difficulty increases: first three phrases are French to English, last two phrases are English to French). - model answer provided for each phrase to translate Advice on how to play: Put the PPT presentation full screen to access questions. Simply click on a box to see the question. Click anywhere to see the answer. Click on the button ‘Jeopardy’ from the answer slide to go back to the menu. The box corresponding to the sentences that have been translated will turn from yellow to blue. Students in your class take turns in picking a box (i.e: Mon anniversaire pour 200€) but all students should translate the phrases. Only students with the correct translation receive the ‘money’. At the end of the game all students add up their money to find out who has won. The vocabulary within this game will be Clothes Vocabulary, so students will see and practice many words that they are familiar with. If your students have never played this game before, the idea is simple and includes every learner: --The cards are shuffled and distributed. -- A player starts and asks for a term. -- If they have the right card, they call: "I have …" and ask for the next term. -- The game continues until the last card has been found. This game is played best with a whole classroom of students. You will be surprised how quiet the room will suddenly get and how your learners will listen carefully. There are a total of 36 cards. Cards are printed 9 per page. You can print and laminate the cards for durability. To store the cards, you may choose to put them in a small baggie or hole punch them so they can attach to a binder ring.
