Thankful Tree Writing Prompt - Thanksgiving Activity

Thankful Tree Writing Prompt - Thanksgiving Activity
Creative Arts, Art, Fine Arts, Graphic Arts, ELA, Language Development, ESL, Vocabulary, Writing, Creative Writing, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Months, Seasons, 100's Day, April Fools, Back To School, Birthdays, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Easter, End Of Year, Halloween, Indigenous Peoples Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, Thanksgiving, April, August, December, February, January, July, June, March, May, November, October, September, Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer, Infant, Toddler, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Centers, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Coloring Pages, Writing Prompts

Get ready to rake up some gratitude with the Thankful Tree Writing Prompt! This Thanksgiving activity combines creativity and reflection to create a heartfelt masterpiece, and no actual leaves will clog your yard. Perfect for kids who are full of thanks (and maybe a little too much turkey), this activity invites them to write and draw about the people, things, and snacks they’re most grateful for. The fun starts with crafting their very own Thankful Tree. Each "leaf" becomes a blank canvas for kids to jot down what warms their hearts, like family, friends, and possibly an unhealthy obsession with mac and cheese. Once the writing’s done, it’s time to branch out with some drawing! Students can add colorful flair to their trees, turning their gratitude into an autumnal work of art. This activity is ideal for classrooms or as a family bonding moment that doesn’t involve fighting over the remote. By the end, kids will have a beautiful Thankful Tree they’ll be proud to display, and you’ll have a little peace and quiet, at least until dessert. Fun, festive, and packed with good vibes, this writing prompt is a must-have for spreading gratitude (and maybe sneaking in a little spelling practice). Let’s get thankful! Enjoy!

Lesson based on 'Last Christmas' by Wham!
ELA, Christmas, Holidays, Holiday & Seasonal, Adult Education, High School, Middle School, Homeschool Resources, Songs, Activities, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables

If you are a teacher, whether an English teacher or not, and are seeking enjoyable activities for the days before the Christmas break when students are antsy, then this lesson is perfect for you! This lesson is focused on the beloved Christmas tune 'Last Christmas' by the famous British duo Wham! The song, in fact, has very little connection to Christmas! The focus is primarily on a relationship that didn't work out and encountering the person again a year later. Just the phrase 'Last Christmas' relates to the holiday season, signaling the climax of the relationship. Nevertheless, it continues to be chosen as the most beloved Christmas song. The lesson offers detailed guidance for the instructor and a variety of exercises to help students practice their four skills. You can choose to use either the audio or video version of the song. Both the necessary photocopy worksheets and the solutions to the tasks are included.

Bring on the Thanksgiving Color by Number fun, where crayons meet comedy! These five pages are packed with festive designs like turkeys who forgot it’s November, pumpkins vying for pie stardom, and a cornucopia so full it’s practically saying, “Don’t judge me, it’s the holidays.” Each section is labeled with a number, and each number matches a color, simple, right? Unless you’re that one kid who insists on making the turkey purple because, and I quote, “It’s my artistic vision.” And honestly, who are we to argue? As your students work through these pages, they’ll unveil cheerful Thanksgiving scenes without even realizing they’re practicing focus and color-matching skills. It’s educational, but let’s keep that between us, no need to ruin the fun with big words. Whether it’s coloring a pumpkin the perfect shade of orange or accidentally turning a pie into an unintentional masterpiece, these pages are guaranteed to deliver laughs and creativity. No stress, no prep, and no arguments over who gets the last crayon. Just good old-fashioned fun, well, as old-fashioned as numbered coloring can get. So, grab your art supplies, and let’s make this Thanksgiving more colorful than Uncle Bob’s questionable holiday sweater. Enjoy!

Just good old-fashioned fun—well, as old-fashioned as numbered coloring can get. So, grab your art supplies, and let’s make this Thanksgiving more colorful than Uncle Bob’s questionable holiday sweater. Enjoy!
