67 Meme Winter Fraction Operations Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Fractions, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities
“67” may have become the de facto soundtrack to your classroom, and what better way to make the most of it? The Winter Fractions Pixel Art activity utilizes the phenomenon of the obsession with the number “67” and turns it into something positive and powerful for the math performance of your children. “ Twenty addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations are provided, ranging from basic to more challenging, to help students master the process of analyzing fractions. Correct solutions to all the exercises will unlock a corresponding image puzzle, and when completed, the solution to all the exercises will yield the magic number 67 in winter colors. It may not sound impressive to experienced teachers, but it is an effective tool to activate students’ learning on fractions when they feel they have seen it all before. It is fully self-checking, so there is instant feedback for the student. If they put in an incorrect answer, it won’t be visible in the picture, and they can rethink their problem. It also allows them to have confidence without you needing to continually check their work. There is also instant grading since it is completely no prep. It only takes seconds to assign. For flexibility, there are printable options included too. The same twenty problems involving fractions can also be taken as a worksheet, making it easy to assign it for homework, small group instruction, or days when it wouldn’t be ideal to have devices. A complete answer key is provided so it will remain quick and painless when it comes to grading. You will also have printable task cards perfect for math workshop, partners, or stations. Whether teaching online, offline, or a combination of both, this fits right in. This activity is best done in December and January when the attention span of the class is smaller and they need something just a bit different to hold their attention. It’s been formalized enough to provide for review days, casualized for centers, and stable enough to remain in your sub folder. Early finishers could complete this independently, and intervention groups could practice without becoming bombarded. Skills that have been reinforced include adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, multiplying fractions, and dividing fractions. This way, students experience relevant repetition without feeling burned-out with fraction operations. A winter activity for your math class that offers fun along with learning and doesn’t contribute anything to your busywork is this fractions pixel art activity with a theme related to the number 67.

Chemistry Element Symbol Game – Visual Matching Cards: Christmas Theme

Chemistry Element Symbol Game – Visual Matching Cards (Christmas Theme) This is a chemistry card game I’ve used in class when we need something more hands-on but still connected to what we’re learning. It works kind of like “Dobble” or “Spot it!”, where you have to find the symbol that two cards have in common. In this case, the cards show element symbols from the first 31 main group elements. No names, just symbols – so it only works if students already know some of them. I usually bring this out in December, when the mood in class is a bit more relaxed but we’re still doing chemistry. The game moves quickly, and students enjoy it once they understand the rules. It doesn’t need any extra materials beyond the cards. Just print them, cut them out, and you’re good to go. There are 93 cards in total, with the same content but in three different shapes: round, square, and hexagon. I printed the square version because it’s easiest to cut, but the round cards look nice too. If you want to keep them for next year, laminating helps. I use it as a warm-up or at a station, sometimes even as a competition in small groups. The best part is that students have to look closely at the symbols and make quick decisions. It really helps with recognition. Some classes get quite into it, and others play more calmly – both work. You can also combine it with coloring beforehand. For example, color all Group 1 elements the same – that makes sorting and grouping easier later. It’s not a complex game, but it keeps the focus on the element symbols without turning it into a test. That’s what I wanted when I made it – something simple that still helps them practise. All the cards are included in the file, plus a short page with how to use them. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Linear vs Nonlinear Functions Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Algebra, Grade 7, 8, 9, Worksheets & Printables, Activities
Distinguishing linear from nonlinear functions doesn’t have to be stressful and boring for you or for your students. This winter-themed pixel art activity transforms the task of identifying functions from being stressful and boring activities that bore students silly for you and your students. This is because for a long time, the task has involved hurrying through the activity on a sheet or making educated guesses about examples. There are twenty problems where students decide if the function is linear or nonlinear based on graphs, equations, and tables. This variety in representation serves its purpose. Rather than learning one concept and applying it throughout to ensure it works this way too, students make connections between different forms of the same thing. Each time the student gets it right, another section of the winter pixel art appears. When an answer is put in that’s incorrect, nothing unlocks to solve it; this forces students to go back and try again. This is completely self-correcting in the most positive way possible—with no penalty to be suffered by understanding something anew. There is nothing to prepare for this activity. You won’t have to set anything up, explain complicated instructions, or prepare anything else. Just put the digital version of this activity out, and the students can get started. It is perfect for a day when you have small groups while you are instructing, and you have the remainder of the class productively busy. You also have access to an accompanying worksheet that is printable so that you have options when technology is not an option or if you are wanting to do an assessment or review on paper. There is an answer key that you or your students are able to use if you choose to grade it quickly. Teachers especially appreciate the versatility of this activity. It can be used for class review or for independent practice. It can be used on the computer and worked on as a class, used for a quick assessment, completed for homework, or kept on file for sub plans. Early finishers can get right into the activity without further instruction, and struggling students will get immediate feedback to help them correct their mistakes. The students examine each function to determine if it is linear or nonlinear and quickly see the effect of this determination. This provides instantaneous feedback to give them confidence and conviction to move the process along. If you are trying to find a winter math activity that will reinforce an essential concept while not adding any prep or grading work to your plate and can do multiple formats, this pixel art assignment fits the bill. It is well-organized and fun to do; exactly what busy classrooms need.

Chemistry Pennant Banner – 50 Main Group Elements to Print

Printable Pennants: 50 Main Group Elements – Holiday Chemistry Decor (Christmas Theme) This is a printable banner I made for my chemistry classroom, mostly to bring a bit of colour and a seasonal touch in December while still keeping it content-related. It includes 50 of the main group elements from the periodic table, each one on a separate pennant with the name, symbol and atomic number. I hang them up across the whiteboard or on the classroom wall, and the nice thing is that the students walk past them all the time, so they kind of absorb the information without realising it. The look of the pennants is slightly Christmas-themed, nothing too much, just enough to feel like it fits the season. I’ve done it both ways – printing the coloured version myself and just hanging it up, or printing the black-and-white version and letting students decorate a pennant each. That version worked well with a lower energy group before the holidays, and they enjoyed adding small facts or drawings connected to their element. Some made it artistic, others just coloured it in, but it definitely helped with remembering. Depending on the class, I sometimes only use the first 20 elements, especially if we haven’t covered much of the table yet. But with older students, we’ve used all 50 and even turned it into a quick quiz – like who can find the halogens in the banner, or name something everyday that contains element 13. I usually print the pennants on slightly thicker paper so they hang nicely, and if I want to use them again next year, I laminate them. String or ribbon works well for hanging, and it only takes a few minutes to put it all together. It’s a small thing, but it brightens up the room and keeps the content in view. Everything’s included in the file – all the pennants and a short explanation. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? “I Have, Who Has?” – Number Words Game (Christmas Version)
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Math, Early Math, Numbers, Holidays, Christmas, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Projects, Flashcards, Centers
“I Have, Who Has?” – Number Words Game (Christmas Version) In my early elementary classes, I’ve often found that the weeks before winter break call for simple, low-pressure activities that still support learning. That’s why I’ve used this number word version of “I Have, Who Has?” so many times—especially with students who are still building confidence in recognizing numbers and reading number words. The game includes number ranges from 0 to 30, so it’s easy to adapt. For some groups, I only use 0 to 10. For others, I include more cards depending on how comfortable they are with the vocabulary. I’ve even used this as a listening activity in small ESL groups, because it gives students repeated exposure to spoken and written number words in a playful format. There’s also a version with syllable breaks, which helps a lot with early readers or children working on pronunciation. The way we usually play it is simple. Each student receives one or more cards, and the round begins when someone says, “I have one. Who has six?” The game continues until all cards have been played. It takes a few minutes for students to get used to the rhythm, but after that, they’re fully focused and often ask to play another round. It also works well when we play in a circle or in smaller groups during center time. What I like most about this game is that it helps students hear, read, and say numbers in context, without needing worksheets or flashcards. I’ve printed my sets on colored paper to help keep different levels organized, and I keep them in envelopes for easy access year after year. The prep is quick, and it fits easily into a short block of time—whether it’s a transition, a review session, or just something calm to end the day. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Christmas Number 0-30 Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Math, Early Math, Numbers, Holidays, Christmas, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Projects, Flashcards, Centers
Christmas Number Game – Printable Cards for Math Practice 0-30 I put this number game together for the last couple of weeks before winter break, mostly because I needed something that would get them practising numbers but also let them move and talk a little. The idea is really simple: they each get a card, and there’s one card in the middle — and the goal is to find the one number that both cards have in common. That’s it. No complicated rules, and they pick it up within seconds. What surprised me was how into it they got. Even the students who usually aren’t that focused during math were engaged. They were shouting out numbers, helping each other, and asking to play again. I’ve played it in pairs, small groups, even whole class with two teams — and it worked every time. The Christmas designs give it a nice seasonal feel, but it’s still clearly a math activity. The cards go from 0 to 30, and there are a few different versions you can print — I made round ones at first but ended up using the square version because it was quicker to cut. Some of my students struggled with number recognition at the start of the year, and I noticed that after a few rounds of this, they started to recognise the numbers faster. It’s a bit of sneaky learning — they just think they’re playing a game, but the repetition really helps. I usually print on regular paper, sometimes heavier paper if I want to reuse the set. It doesn’t take long to prep — I just cut the cards in the evening, put them in an envelope, and that’s it. It’s become one of my favourite December math go-tos because it keeps the class busy, learning, and having fun — without any chaos. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? 67 Meme Winter Solving One Step Equations Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Algebra, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities
If "67" has taken over your classroom talk, now is the perfect opportunity to turn it into something useful. This Christmas one step equation pixel art task is riding off the back of the viral trend "67" and giving it a purposeful spin. Rather than seeing a math problem pop up, students see a task with an end goal, something they are curious about completing right away. Students complete twenty equations with one-step solutions for both positive and negative integers. The exercises involve all basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division so that the pupils get excellent practice without overwhelming them. Every time the child gives the correct answer to the equation, a part of a puzzle with a winter scenery will be revealed to the child, and in the end, the well-known number 67 will be visible in winter colors. The digital version is completely self-checking, providing immediate feedback to the student as they complete questions. Incorrect math problems will not be revealed by the picture, prompting the student to take another look and complete the problem again. I find this feature to give the student instant feedback and to give you time to assist other students as they complete independent practice activities. To offer further flexibility, printable versions are provided as choices. These same twenty equations can be found in a worksheet form, making it simple to assign for homework or in-class work without technology. You will also see a complete toolbox of printable task cards, great for centers, group work, or a scuttlebutt rotation. A complete answer key is provided for easy assessment or review by students. This activity is perfect when done in December, when children tend to be especially energetic and have a hard time sitting still. It’s exciting enough to be seasonal and entertaining, yet formalized enough to provide actual value in improving their expertise. It’s also a great go-to activity in case of an emergency sub plan with no prep work involved. The skills that have been reinforced are the following: performing operations on one-step equations involving all four operations and developing fluency with positive and negative integers. Students are getting repetition without boredom and feedback without frustration. If you want to bring a little bit of Christmas spirit into the mathematics portion of your day while still focusing on the teaching and the learning, the Winter 67 Pixel Art provides the perfect remedy. This is easy to assign and administer, and it is impossible to ignore, in the best possible way.

Bingo Game- Multiplication Tables 0,1,2,5, and 10-Christmas Sweaters
Math, Multiplication and Division, Multiplication, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Homeschool Curriculum, Grade 2, 3, Activities, Games
What a fun-filled way to review the tables for beginners working on 0,1,2,5,and 10 tables. This Christmas- themed game provides practice to build fluency in multiplying as described in CCSS. Math Content 3.NBT.A.3. Since it is limited to 0,1,2,5, and 10, it makes a good introductory to 3rd or the end of 2nd grade. You can run the cards off on cardstock, cut to size, and laminate them for a permanent game solution. You can also run them off on paper and have the students cross off the answer as they solve the problems. The game can be played by small groups at a center. I included blanks that students can use to create questions and boards. Based on your allowed time, you can play five in a row, just the corners, or cover the whole board. Since all of the possible combinations of multiplication problems are provided, there will be duplication of answers. I spread the calling cards out and as soon as I see an answer that will have duplicates ( for example the number 12), I remove duplicates as I come to them. Another way to handle this issue is to remove ahead or pick and choose groups of tables you want to concentrate your efforts on.
