He’s the best thing about Christmas! “The best thing about Christmas is that Jesus was born for me. For God had sent us a Savior to set the captives free. The best thing about Christmas is the plan that came from above. Chemistry Flashcards – Match Main Group Element Names and Symbols Holiday Theme: Christmas This is a printable set of flashcards that I put together to help students remember the names and symbols of the elements. I’ve used this kind of thing around December when everyone’s a bit tired but we still want to do something related to chemistry. The cards have either the name of an element or its symbol, and students just try to find the right pairs. It’s simple, but they really do remember more that way. There’s a bit of a seasonal theme to the design, which makes it feel different from the usual review work. You can use the cards in all sorts of ways — I’ve tried it as a memory game, or just as a quiet task for pairs. It depends on the group. For students who are still getting to know the periodic table, I just give them a smaller set with the first 20 or so elements. For stronger groups, they can use the full set and even add extra facts to each card while they’re working. You don’t need anything special to prep the game. I just print the cards on thicker paper and sometimes laminate them if I want to keep them for next year. Once they’re cut out, you can keep them in small envelopes or boxes, depending on how you like to organize your materials. It’s one of those things that’s easy to bring in when you need something hands-on but still subject-related. The students enjoy it more than a worksheet, and they do actually talk about the elements while they play, which is always a win. You can also use it as a station or a warm-up during December lessons. All the cards are included, along with a short explanation of how to use them. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Bingo Game- Multiplication Tables 0,1,2,5, and 10-Christmas Sweaters
Math, Multiplication and Division, Multiplication, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Homeschool Curriculum, Grade 2, 3, Activities, Games

What a fun-filled way to review the tables for beginners working on 0,1,2,5,and 10 tables. This Christmas- themed game provides practice to build fluency in multiplying as described in CCSS. Math Content 3.NBT.A.3. Since it is limited to 0,1,2,5, and 10, it makes a good introductory to 3rd or the end of 2nd grade. You can run the cards off on cardstock, cut to size, and laminate them for a permanent game solution. You can also run them off on paper and have the students cross off the answer as they solve the problems. The game can be played by small groups at a center. I included blanks that students can use to create questions and boards. Based on your allowed time, you can play five in a row, just the corners, or cover the whole board. Since all of the possible combinations of multiplication problems are provided, there will be duplication of answers. I spread the calling cards out and as soon as I see an answer that will have duplicates ( for example the number 12), I remove duplicates as I come to them. Another way to handle this issue is to remove ahead or pick and choose groups of tables you want to concentrate your efforts on. Contents 40 Bingo Cards 40 Calling Cards 4 Blank Bingo Cards Sheet of 25 Blank Calling Cards

“I Have, Who Has?” – Number Words Game (Christmas Version)

“I Have, Who Has?” – Number Words Game (Christmas Version)

“I Have, Who Has?” – Number Words Game (Christmas Version) In my early elementary classes, I’ve often found that the weeks before winter break call for simple, low-pressure activities that still support learning. That’s why I’ve used this number word version of “I Have, Who Has?” so many times—especially with students who are still building confidence in recognizing numbers and reading number words. The game includes number ranges from 0 to 30, so it’s easy to adapt. For some groups, I only use 0 to 10. For others, I include more cards depending on how comfortable they are with the vocabulary. I’ve even used this as a listening activity in small ESL groups, because it gives students repeated exposure to spoken and written number words in a playful format. There’s also a version with syllable breaks, which helps a lot with early readers or children working on pronunciation. The way we usually play it is simple. Each student receives one or more cards, and the round begins when someone says, “I have one. Who has six?” The game continues until all cards have been played. It takes a few minutes for students to get used to the rhythm, but after that, they’re fully focused and often ask to play another round. It also works well when we play in a circle or in smaller groups during center time. What I like most about this game is that it helps students hear, read, and say numbers in context, without needing worksheets or flashcards. I’ve printed my sets on colored paper to help keep different levels organized, and I keep them in envelopes for easy access year after year. The prep is quick, and it fits easily into a short block of time—whether it’s a transition, a review session, or just something calm to end the day. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Glitter Backgrounds – 12 Sparkling Designs for Worksheets, Slides, and Classroom Projects to Brighten Your Classroom Materials ✨ PNG + PDF + TIFF Over the years, I’ve found that even small visual changes can make a big difference when it comes to engaging students—especially with worksheets, bulletin boards, or presentations. That’s exactly why I created these glitter backgrounds. They add a little sparkle and visual interest without being too overwhelming or distracting. Sometimes it’s the background that helps set the mood for a lesson. In this set, you’ll find 12 glitter-style backgrounds, each in A4 format. I designed them using Procreate, and they’re available in three file types: PNG, PDF, and TIFF. That way, you can choose what works best for you—whether you're creating something for print or a digital format like Canva, PowerPoint, or Google Slides. What’s included: – 12 different glitter backgrounds (A4 size) – File formats: PNG (with transparency), PDF (ready to print), TIFF (high resolution) I’ve used these backgrounds in lots of different ways: as worksheet templates, as digital covers in GoodNotes, and even as backing pages for student booklets. Around the holidays, students love anything that sparkles—so I’ve used them for reflection prompts in December, festive games, or classroom posters. They’re also a nice way to elevate things like certificates, behavior charts, or project templates. The designs are colorful and textured, but still neutral enough to use across different subjects and age groups. A note on usage: You're welcome to use these backgrounds in your own classroom or in materials you create for your students. You can also use them in educational resources you plan to share or sell—just make sure your own content is clearly visible and that you credit my store or website when doing so. Wishing you lots of creative ideas and sparkly results! – Heike from @Lernfitness Did You Know? Chemistry Element Symbol Game – Visual Matching Cards (Christmas Theme) This is a chemistry card game I’ve used in class when we need something more hands-on but still connected to what we’re learning. It works kind of like “Dobble” or “Spot it!”, where you have to find the symbol that two cards have in common. In this case, the cards show element symbols from the first 31 main group elements. No names, just symbols – so it only works if students already know some of them. I usually bring this out in December, when the mood in class is a bit more relaxed but we’re still doing chemistry. The game moves quickly, and students enjoy it once they understand the rules. It doesn’t need any extra materials beyond the cards. Just print them, cut them out, and you’re good to go. There are 93 cards in total, with the same content but in three different shapes: round, square, and hexagon. I printed the square version because it’s easiest to cut, but the round cards look nice too. If you want to keep them for next year, laminating helps. I use it as a warm-up or at a station, sometimes even as a competition in small groups. The best part is that students have to look closely at the symbols and make quick decisions. It really helps with recognition. Some classes get quite into it, and others play more calmly – both work. You can also combine it with coloring beforehand. For example, color all Group 1 elements the same – that makes sorting and grouping easier later. It’s not a complex game, but it keeps the focus on the element symbols without turning it into a test. That’s what I wanted when I made it – something simple that still helps them practise. All the cards are included in the file, plus a short page with how to use them. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Christmas Number Domino – Match Numbers and Number Words (0–30) I like using this Christmas number domino set when we need something calm but still meaningful in the weeks before winter break. Students match numbers with the written number words and gradually build one long domino chain together. The set focuses on numbers from 0 to 30. Each card shows a numeral on one side and the matching number word on the other. Students connect the cards by finding the correct matches, which also practices number recognition and reading at the same time. There are two versions included. One uses regular number words. The second version shows the words with syllable markings. I created this for students who still need help decoding longer number words or benefit from visual reading support. To make it easier to adapt, there are optional end cards for different ranges. You can limit the activity to 0–10, 0–20, or use the full 0–30 set. I usually start with a smaller range and add more cards once students feel confident. I’ve used this during math centers, for partner work, and also as a quiet early finisher activity. It works well because the structure is clear and students can play without much explanation. The domino cards can be printed on regular paper or on colored paper if you want to keep sets separate. I normally laminate them so they last for several seasons. Blank cards are included in case you want to add your own numbers or adjust the set. The design is winter-themed and works well in December lessons, but the focus stays on number practice and reading number words. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness

67 Meme Winter Plotting Points on the Coordinate Plane Pixel Art

67 Meme Winter Plotting Points on the Coordinate Plane Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Geometry, Graphing, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities

This activity is based on the 67 viral meme, your students will go crazy. Trust me when I say that if you have ever attempted to incorporate coordinate plane practice in the winter months in the classroom, you know exactly what I am talking about: restless kids, short attention span, and anything resembling “schoolwork” gets the side eye. This pixel winter-themed project removes all of this stress from your shoulders. It provides your 5th or 6th-grade students with appreciable point-plotting practice while being different from the norm. The best part about this is how simple it is: Students put twenty coordinate pairs in the familiar drag-and-drop interface. With each correct point placed, students get a glimpse of a puzzle image hiding behind the coordinate grid. Piece by piece, the complete winter image emerges. Even those students who tend to zone out in graphing class sit up straight knowing there's going to be a reward in the form of unearthing a picture. It's not just another graphing project—it's like puzzle-solving. And the best part of this process? This process is completely self-checking. You don't have to be right there in front of the computer, adjusting and confirming if the point is in the correct spot. The lesson handles all of this information by itself. A point in the wrong spot simply means the image doesn't appear. The students learn from this process and try again. You can also use this resource in multiple ways; you can use it digitally in class practice or incorporate it in your homeward assignments as an interactive way to review. This resource works perfectly after demonstrating the coordinate graph in class for the first time, during a spiral review in the middle of the unit, or even right before class if there's going to be a test. This resource fits perfectly in class because of the wintery theme; in fact, it doesn’t cross over into anything holiday-related. Here's what's included: • Digital no-prep pixel art lesson • Twenty drag-and-drop ordered pairs with coverage of all four quadrants • Fully self-checking format featuring a winter mystery picture • Easy-to-follow student instructions • Ready-to-use environment that can be assigned in seconds Teachers appreciate that this activity is fresh and interesting yet not complicated. Students appreciate that this activity is like working on a puzzle compared to other math assignments. And you will appreciate that this process provides you with reliable data from practice without contributing more to your grading stack. This Mystery Picture Activity in math class would be the perfect way for your students to develop coordinate planes this winter if you want the students to have fun doing math assignments.

Rather than seeing a math problem pop up, students see a task with an end goal, something they are curious about completing right away. Students complete twenty equations with one-step solutions for both positive and negative integers. The exercises involve all basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division so that the pupils get excellent practice without overwhelming them. Every time the child gives the correct answer to the equation, a part of a puzzle with a winter scenery will be revealed to the child, and in the end, the well-known number 67 will be visible in winter colors. The digital version is completely self-checking, providing immediate feedback to the student as they complete questions. Incorrect math problems will not be revealed by the picture, prompting the student to take another look and complete the problem again. I find this feature to give the student instant feedback and to give you time to assist other students as they complete independent practice activities. To offer further flexibility, printable versions are provided as choices. These same twenty equations can be found in a worksheet form, making it simple to assign for homework or in-class work without technology. You will also see a complete toolbox of printable task cards, great for centers, group work, or a scuttlebutt rotation. A complete answer key is provided for easy assessment or review by students. This activity is perfect when done in December, when children tend to be especially energetic and have a hard time sitting still. It’s exciting enough to be seasonal and entertaining, yet formalized enough to provide actual value in improving their expertise. It’s also a great go-to activity in case of an emergency sub plan with no prep work involved. The skills that have been reinforced are the following: performing operations on one-step equations involving all four operations and developing fluency with positive and negative integers. Students are getting repetition without boredom and feedback without frustration. If you want to bring a little bit of Christmas spirit into the mathematics portion of your day while still focusing on the teaching and the learning, the Winter 67 Pixel Art provides the perfect remedy. This is easy to assign and administer, and it is impossible to ignore, in the best possible way.

67 Meme Winter Order of Operations Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Geometry, Graphing, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities

If your kids just won’t stop talking about “67,” you might as well find a use for it. This winter-themed pixel art math center involving the order of operations takes the 67 fixation and turns it into something even better than just solving for 67: something the kids will really care to see the answer to. The concept is easy and fun. Students can complete twenty order of operations problems, which involve the use of parentheses but no exponentials. This is just the activity for reinforcing the concept. A correct answer reveals the next piece of a hidden winter scene. As the image develops, the characteristic number 67 is exposed in winter colors. This assignment is completely digital and automatically Self-Checking. Students get immediate feedback this way. If the student puts an incorrect answer down, the image will not reveal their mistake and will encourage the student to look at what they have done and try again. Your assignment will teach the student to not ask how their work looks or whether or not something is right. For an element of flexibility, printable versions have been included too. These same twenty problems can be accessed as a worksheet, so assigning these to be completed as homework is easy. There is also a complete set of math problem cards that are printable. These math problem cards are excellent to be used when engaging in math centers or scoot. Whatever way of teaching you choose to utilize, whether digital, physically, or a combination of these, this resource will go smoothly. There is also a complete answer key. This activity is particularly well-suited for December and January, when students' attention and motivational levels may be low. This activity is engaging for note-taking, organized for review days, and safe to keep on hand for emergency substitute teaching. Also, because everything is already established, little to no prep is required. Just pass out the link, and students can dive right in. No locks need to be set up, no clues need to be placed, and no sign-ins to a website are necessary. Everything happens entirely on line. Skills taught are evaluating multi-step expressions, using the order of operations when there are parentheses, and learning to compute precisely in a low-stakes, high-interest manner. If you are looking to capture the 67 trend with your class while building key math concepts, this pixel art activity this winter season offers exactly what you are looking for: a perfect combination of rigor, fun, and simplicity. Your class will be enthralled, and you will have an excellent, no-prep teaching tool to use all year long.
