Stuart Little Activity Compare Characters

Stuart Little Activity Compare Characters
ELA, Literature, Grade 2, 3, 4, Activities

This product has students comparing characters in the novel Stuart Little, by E. B. White. In this activity, students are given Venn Diagrams. A Venn Diagram is a great visual graphic organizer for students. It allows them to compare and contrast two characters from the novel. The worksheets have lines in the circles to help the students write clearly, as well as fill up the space in the circles. There's enough room for students to write the similarities in the middle, and the differences on the outside. The worksheets already list the names of the characters being compared. They are George/Stuart, Stuart/Snowbell, Stuart/Harriet, and Margalo/Snowbell. This novel is usually read by 2nd through 4th graders. You could have these be filled out throughout the reading, or you could have it be an activity after finishing the book. Students could complete these on their own, or you could have them work in small groups. You can encourage your students to not only write a single word in each space, but rather a phrase. For example, for Stuart and Harriet, instead of just writing 'small' in the center section, they could write 'both are the same size.'

Size of The Problem Clip Cards As educators, we know that understanding the varying scales of issues or problems can be challenging for younger learners. To address this, we present the Size of The Problem Clip Cards - a set designed to teach students to differentiate between small and large problems using scenarios they might encounter in daily life. This resource comprises 31 clip cards providing a diverse array of real-life situations. Each card aids students in recognizing the size or scale of an issue and realizing that not everything should be treated as a major concern—it's a crucial part of emotional intelligence, and it helps children avoid unnecessary stress or overreactions. Description: A functional teaching tool beneficial especially for those just starting school who may struggle with reactions to different circumstances. An ideal tool for elementary-aged students who may have communication challenges and prefer non-verbal responses. Invaluable for teachers dealing with pupils who struggle with anger outbursts or habitual tattling—issues often stemming from misjudging problem sizes. You will appreciate how easy these cards are to implement within your curriculum—they require minimal preparation but offer significant benefits for understanding social-emotional learning concepts. Both full color and black & white versions are included allowing you flexibility based on your resources at hand. Purpose: The cards serve not only as teaching aids but also contribute significantly towards developing resilience among young learners by helping them understand good coping mechanisms vis-à-vis different situation magnitudes—teaching them: not all troubles warrant being made bigger than they effectively are. Remember—giving kids coping skills early on is one genuinely effective way to prepare them better for life's ups and downs ahead!

Sieve of Eratosthenes, 400 numbers
Free Download

Sieve of Eratosthenes, 400 numbers
Math, Numbers, Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Activities

This printable sieve of Eratosthenes is 400 numbers long (instead of the usual 100). The Sieve of Eratosthenes is a good way to find small prime numbers. It goes as follows: 1. Cross out number 1 2. Circle next number that is not crossed out (the first one is 2) 3. Cross out numbers that are divisible by number you just circled Repeat faces 2 and 3 until there are nothing but primes left. This longer version gives interested students a possibility to examine further, how much prime numbers there are when we go further with the natural numbers. (This is interesting, because it kind of connects very simple school math with higher level mathematics. If students want to examine further, for example from Wikipedia, they will realize that the density of prime numbers (prime number theorem) is something that a number of very skilled mathematicians have spent countless hours with. Of course, knowing the first prime number is essential to survive with more complicated fractions in secondary mathematics (or higher). That way, faster students can find all the primes lower than 400 in the same time when some students may be able to find only the smaller ones. Each of these student groups will at the end of the day benefit from it. This one is free! The pdf is not editable and most suitable for printing and then doing with pencil and paper. This goes with different grade levels from upper elementary to high school.
