This 'SN' Initial Consonant Digraph PowerPoint is a taught lesson especially suitable for those who have special needs or need a slower pace. Special features of the 'SN' PowerPoint lesson No words are introduced that cannot be sounded out. There are no distractions for the special needs child to have to 'block out' before s/he can learn - no jingly music, no comic pictures. Nothing moves quickly. Everything is explained very simply. Sound buttons are provided for use if necessary. Makes phonics as simple as can be No confusing language to throw pupils off track - no need for an English degree to learn to read! What is included in/with the 'SN' Digraph PowerPoint ? This 'SN' PowerPoint is a narrated lesson. The PowerPoint format means that you can go at a pace suitable for your pupils. It is just like having your own phonics teacher! There are 40 slides. We begin by introducing developing phonemic awareness of the initial digraph SN, We move on to sound out words with 'SN'. This is followed by some tracking exercises - short sentences where the pupil is asked to spot the 'NG' sound in the words before reading each sentence. The PowerPoint finishes with our 'star' for good effort which children love! How can the ‘SN' PowerPoint be used? It can be used in multiple ways: It can either be used by the child, with support from an adult, as well as to give the parents a feel for what is necessary - i.e., for training purposes. Many of our students love learning in a variety of ways and music is one of those! We can retain information better when we hear it through songs and visual videos. This is one reason we like to incorporate music in our learning environments. We don’t have to limit music to music class only for our students. In my store, you’ll find a wide array of music resources that students will love to learn from. What You Get: This is a music video for your elementary students. The title of this song is “Responsibility.”This is a song and video that will teach students about character and taking responsibility. This video provides explanations and many examples to support student learning. You can implement this video at the introduction of teaching this character trait. The objective is for students to better understand how to be responsible and what it takes to have good character. This would be a song that I play multiple times for my students across the course of this unit .
