This social story is about hugging, explaining to children that hugs are not always appropriate and that some people do not like to be hugged. Part of the foundation includes syllable division. When students can identify syllable patterns and break words apart, they become masterful decoders. A child who can successfully decode words is ready to read! Here is a resource that gives complete focus to mastering this skill. Breaking the Big Words Activity Book is a syllable division activity series for students. This is Volume 4, Set 2. The focus is: Syllable Patterns: V/V Syllable Types: Open and Magic e Number of Syllables: 2-3 This set is meant to make students feel successful because: · Syllable patterns are introduced in a specific order to ensure students master a single syllable type with blends and digraphs before moving on to the next type. · As students reach mastery with recognizing and decoding each syllable type, the next will be introduced. Your Students Will: Learn the definitions of addition, subtraction, and estimating. Determine which operation to use (addition or subtraction) to solve a real-life word problem. The problems involve realistic scenarios around money, population, video game scores, daily step counts, and more! Use rounding and benchmarks to estimate a solution before calculating.
