This Frogs decodable easy reader for guided reading is great for very young children who are just learning to read and know the most basic digraphs and trigraphs. Children can learn about the life cycle of a frog while they develop their reading skills. This is important for children who need to learn to integrate their new skills into their reading. The child is supported to read fluently as the book only uses commonly taught sight words and all other words are decodable. This gives the child much-needed confidence to read. This is a non-fiction book, providing a gentle introduction to non-fiction for emerging readers. It can be used alongside a project on Frogs, or stand-alone. It can be used with any programme once a child has learned the basic digraphs and trigraphs. This includes after Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds and after RWI Speed Set 3. Who is it for? Longtime fans have been asking us to make this long vowel resource for a while, and we have finally decided to take the plunge. It turned out to be a pretty awesome resource. First off, use the PDF based digital file to introduce these long vowel sounds to your students. You just open the file and show it full screen. Then use the arrow keys to go from one page to another. This way you can also stop the slideshow if something is too difficult for your students. After this, you can give them the digital multiple choice test. The correct answer will be circled in green and the incorrect ones are red. This makes it abundantly clear what the right answer is. But there are a bunch of printable files as well. How about the vocab lists en tests? And then there are the flash cards too, either with round or with sharp corners. All and all, a very complete resource to practice long vowel sounds.

This EE decodable reading book can help children develop reading fluency. With a matching PowerPoint, is ideally suited to Guided Reading. It is part of a series of highly structured decodable reading books with controlled vocab; all vocab is decodable using phonic knowledge the child already has (if read in sequence) and true irregular sight words are only slowly and gradually introduced. Science of reading aligned. Based on the most up-to-date phonic research. This book is the next in our new series for budding historians who may be older pupils and may have special needs and need a more mature storyline than cats and dogs! It follows on from our previous sets of ' Learn to Read' packs covering the 5 vowels and the previous books in the series so the pupil is expected to be able to blend 3 and 4 sounds securely and be ready to read words with /oo/. It can be used as a stand-alone decodable reading book provided a child can blend CVC/CCVC/CVCC words and has learned the sound oo. These books are best read in sequence. They can also be found here as a growing bundle pack with a scope and sequence. This book contains words with the following sounds: oo. This series has been written with the aid of one of my pupils, aged 8. He writes his ideas and draws pictures and then I formulate them into a fool-proof reading book using only decodable words. Reading Made Simple for Special Needs A 100% systematic phonic reading programme for all ages and abilities. Give your child a Head start in reading! Due to its 100% systematic nature, this reading programme is highly suitable for any child with a special need, including dyslexia (or suspected), or any other need that is causing a child to have difficulties learning to read. What makes this reading programme different? · It has its own, easy-to-download and print phonic reading books, making it accessible to many children worldwide. · Each book carefully builds on the vocabulary of those that have gone before, providing much repetition, without relying on predictable text. · Pictures aid the storyline without encouraging reading from the pictures – i.e. guessing. · The vocabulary is based on phonic families, which are introduced in a carefully planned way. · True sight words – those that cannot be sounded out - are kept to the very minimum. Most words are introduced in their phonic family wherever possible. · It is truly multisensory, using the power of the hand. We not only look at the words, but we write them too. This is powerful and has the bonus of turning the child not only into a reader but into a writer as well. Typical signs that this programme can help: · Difficulty recalling words when seen on flashcards or when reading texts, which results in no or little reading fluency · b/d letter reversal of a chronic nature – i.e. the child has not grown out of it · Difficulty ordering letters in words: E.g. top becomes pot. · Difficulty differentiating between like words: spoon/soon; back/black; sheep/sleep etc… · Difficulty tracking words across a page To help all children succeed, each phonic family is taught in two lessons, each a week in duration. This speed has been tried and tested to be the optimum speed to allow children to absorb new information without mental overload. You may find that some children need longer - but never less. Each phonic family is split into half and only 5/6 words in a family are studied each week. Activities are provided to give the child plenty of exposure to the new sound and the set of words that contain it. These activities are not hard, but simply bring the child face to face with the words, first individually, then in sentences, and finally in longer passages. We also seek to strengthen knowledge of blends and develop phonemic awareness through the activities, much needed by these learners. In all, the way that Reading Made Simple has been designed reduces the burden on the working memory, making it easier for children to learn to read. Children relax as they meet familiar words again and again. They begin to say – sometimes for the first time, ‘I can read’. With this programme, you can help a non-reader today! How long are the books? The reading books are 12 pages long. Why are these books FREE when other people's books cost so much? Are they of lesser quality? They are free as I regard the ability to read as being a fundamental right of every living person. Why should some miss out on top-quality resources because they cannot pay for them? In terms of content, they are top quality, carefully planned and sequenced to help as many children as possible get started on the phonic road to reading. Practicing Wonders Words to Know is often a bit of a boring task for most students. That's why we made it a bit more fun. First of all, you can guide students through the book along with the vocabulary list. Here it shows the part of speech, the word, the definition and an example sentence. This way, students don't even need their books anymore to practice all of the words at home. Another fun element is the word search. This word search is based on the definitions, so the student is not given the correct answer right away. This way, they really have to dig into their memories to come up with the correct answer. After all of the practicing is done, it is time to do the test. You can present this by first giving the definition and then to let the student fill out the correct answer. The second part is a fill in the blanks exercise.

Thank you for being interested in my educational games . On this occasion I present to you this math game inspired by the numbers from 1 to 20. 1. GENERAL PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS: - Product title: "I have, who has" - Numbers 1 to 20 - Number of pages: This teaching resource contains 5 fabulous pages, each page contains 4 cards, which would finally make a total of 20 cards with numbers from 1 to 20. - Color/black and white: This document is available in color so that it captures the immediate attention of your children, increasing their interest and motivation in the area of mathematics. - Document version and size: This educational resource is in PDF version and in A4 size. - Way to print it: I recommend that you print this document as it is, because I consider that the booklets are just the right size for children to view as well as manipulate them. This Reading Intervention for Struggling Readers: Book 9 provides an easy-read story, helping the pupil to begin to carry meaning from page to page and a multi-chapter informational text about boats, plus a poem. This book is the ninth in a series of books written to provide intervention for struggling readers using decodable reading books, written to build confidence and help the child attain fluency and comprehension. This book is useful for reading intervention for older pupils, maybe even of 11+ who are struggling to read fluently, but who have a smattering of phonic knowledge but with gaps. It builds on the vocabulary of the books that have gone before. giving the child a familiar base on which to build. It follows: Book 1 CVC Words Book 2 Consonant Blends Words Book 3 More Consonant Blends Words Book 4 CK word Book 5 OO Words Book 6 Revise CK and OO with added extra basic vocabulary Book 7 Split digraphs, AI, EA and OA Book 8 A chapter story Who is this book for? Older pupils who can read, but who have a reading age well below their chronological age. Such children may struggle to read simple text with accuracy/fluency and thereby lack comprehension. It is not for pupils who are just beginning to read with phonics. Please see my Graded reading books for such pupils. It is convenient enough for parents to use with their children, as well as for use by teachers and private tutors. Outline and steps Having secured a child's blending skills with three and four sounds in books 1 to 3, and practised CK and OO words, we now start to extend the child's ability to decode new words with either one, two or three syllables. Assess the whole time as the child reads: if the child stumbles on a word, make a note to revise that phonic sound before continuing to the next book. I find that often these children need help distinguishing between similar words, such as back and black, and by retraining the child to read accurately using these simple texts - that do not look babyish - and then rebuilding from the bottom up, much progress can be made. I thought that my pupils would look with disdain at these books. I found the opposite; they were so relieved that at last somebody had actually given them a book they could read! Simply print on A4 paper, two on a page. Cut into individual A5 pages, and staple or bind them together to make a book. Purpose These books have been written and tried and tested on some of my older pupils (mainly boys I admit), and they have proved very helpful. Most of my pupils have a dyslexic type problem, involving poor processing skills and have had years of failure. They must build a secure foundation for reading ability to build upon. These books, used as described, will help to build that foundation. I am finding an increasing number of such pupils desperate for help. You can help, too! Initial sounds Phonics Test This is a fun test to find out whether children can hear the initial, or beginning sound of words, or not. The test requires the teacher to ask: What sound does _____ begin with? The child has bright colourful pictures on each of the three pages and plenty of space to record his/her answer next to each picture. Who is the Initial Sounds Phonics Test for? This test is for anyone who teaches the initial sounds to children, be that Pre-K, K, ESL, EFL, Private tutors, home educators, or parents at home. Full instructions as to how to administer the test are provided, including solutions in case of misidentification of pictures. Format: The test has a bright cover, with space for the child’s name. it also includes a quick reference chart so that the teacher can quickly see which sounds a child does not yet know. Instructions and rationale: Print as a booklet (A3 paper required), or print the A4 pages individually and staple them together. Full instructions are included. Testing has got a bad name, but it is crucial that every teacher informally tests all of their pupils regularly to make sure that every child is ready for the next step.
