ee Phonic Reading Book Level 1:4

This 'ee' phonic reading book is the fourth book to read in Level 1 of the FREE Reading Made Simple phonic reading scheme and only includes words with CVC,CVCC/CCVC, ck, oo and ee words. It practices the words see, tree, feed, and sleep while revising words with ck and oo. The books should be read in order. You can find other books here: Book 1 Book 2 Book 3 These first phonic readers are suitable for use with all phonic programmes when children know the sounds ck, oo and ee. Special features of the Digraph Reading Books This series of books focuses exclusively on sounding out words and only uses a minimal number of key sight (red/tricky) words. These short words should be learned on a flashcard first but are best put into context as soon as possible when children usually, quickly pick them up. The words being introduced in the reading programme for the first time are listed at the beginning of each book. Pictures are deliberately minimal to encourage the child to gain meaning from the text and not to guess. All of the words are introduced and then met again in subsequent readers giving repetition of vocabulary, to help develop confidence and fluency. Highly structured Very systematic There is also a short introduction to the book to be read by the teacher and discussed with the child. These introductions help to make up for the lack of words in the book and help parents and teachers to have a basis for discussion with the child, so aiding reading comprehension. I have based the stories around loveable characters with whom the children quickly identify: farmer Tom with his animals, his wife, his son Sam and daughter, Pam, his dog, Jiff and the cat. Due to the highly systematic, phonetic nature of these books, they are very suitable for special needs children who have failed with other programmes. Many parents have told me they wished they had found these books sooner or had found them at all, as they would have been ideal for their struggling reader. They have been thoroughly tested by my current pupils all of whom are boys. Even my nine-year old boy pupil loves them. They can also be used with young EFL/ESL learners. Who is the ee reading book for? Beginner readers who can sound out/blend both CVC and CCVC/CVCC words with a short vowel sound and who now starting to learn the digraphs. We included multiple visual aids and review with Interactive Multiple X Choices and Key Concepts Activity . A multiple-choice Review Activity is one in which the students respond by making a selection among several proposed solutions, each of which is scored as correct or incorrect. The process consists of a short text describing the Vocabulary Words and a definite number of alternative answer options. Among the response options, only one is correct and the rest are incorrect, acting as distractors. A multiple-choice activity is one of the most popular methods used for the assessment of learning. There are many advantages to using a multiple-choice activity in a classroom, for example: They are easy to understand, requires less time to answer than those that contain open questions, where a greater amount of information is required to be processed, the student is evaluated simply based on their choices, and after students are given the instructions on how to use the boxes to answer, you can be confident in the clarity of their answers. First, Practice the vocabulary words as a PPTX and use your mouse. Then, review and read aloud the Vocabulary words and multiple choices. Just press on the square letter your students suggest, if the letter is correct, it will reveal the answer, if the answer is incorrect, it’ll mark it (red X). wrong, keep working until you get the correct answer. This speed has been tried and tested to be the optimum speed to allow children to absorb new information without mental overload. You may find that some children need longer - but never less. Each phonic family is split into half and only 5/6 words in a family are studied each week. Activities are provided to give the child plenty of exposure to the new sound and the set of words that contain it. These activities are not hard, but simply bring the child face to face with the words, first individually, then in sentences, and finally in longer passages. We also seek to strengthen knowledge of blends and develop phonemic awareness through the activities, much needed by these learners. In all, the way that Reading Made Simple has been designed reduces the burden on the working memory, making it easier for children to learn to read. Children relax as they meet familiar words again and again. They begin to say – sometimes for the first time, ‘I can read’. With this programme, you can help a non-reader today! This SK fun, Find and Color worksheet for initial blends is excellent for acquainting children orally with initial consonant blends and helping them develop the necessary phonemic awareness in preparation for more advanced blending work, involving four phonemes. What is included in the pack? One PDF sheet for the SK blend. This is a sample of our pack of 20 activities covering common initial blends which can be found here in one PDF file: less clutter on your computer! What do the worksheets involve? Pupils are instructed to combine the two letters on the worksheet and then look for objects that start with that consonant blend. Then, these items ought to be coloured, leaving the others uncoloured. Children can easily work on the sheet unaided once they have been instructed, although, with those children with special needs, it is strongly suggested that an adult works with the child for maximum benefit. How to use The introduction of the concept of initial blends needs to be done thoroughly. When I work with children, especially those with a special need, I first like to teach children to blend two consonant letters. Then I work on developing the children's phonemic awareness: that being the ability to hear two consonant letters blended at the beginning of a word, easily. This is difficult for some pupils and takes a lot of practice. These worksheets can assist by first encouraging students to blend the two consonant letters and then by helping them to hear the blend at the start of a word. As often as you can, practice blending the letters in each initial blend and encourage the students to follow suit. I find that modelling is key at this stage. Who are the initial blends Find and colour worksheets for? Young learners Those with a special need Due to their non-babyish nature , they can be successfully used with older ESL/EFL pupils. In this sample, you can enjoy a selection of 10 custom graphic organizers for Character, Setting, Plot, Theme, and Conflict. These graphic organizers can be used in any classroom, for any grade, and with any student. Use these graphic organizers to help students gain an understanding of the five elements of a story. Each graphic organizer comes with instructions on how to use them. Character Graphic Organizers: Character Map - Write the name of the character in the middle circle. Then, describe the character’s actions in the top left square; what the character says and how they speak in the top right square; the character’s feelings in the bottom left square; and what the character looks like in the bottom right square. Plot Graphic Organizers: Plot Pyramid – Complete this classic Plot Pyramid graphic organizer by writing the Introduction of the story in the bottom left box. Then, describe the Rising Action, followed by the Climax of the story. Finish up with the Falling Action and the Resolution or Conclusion of the story. Storyboard – Illustrate the plot or an event from the story. Draw or describe in detail each stage in the plot or in an event that takes place in the story. Remember, the order of plot development is: Introduction, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution/Conclusion. Theme Graphic Organizers: Theme Chart – First identify the main characters, main conflict, and theme of the story. Then, breakdown the theme of the story by first writing down the beginning of the theme. Follow this by writing the development of the theme, then the climax of the theme. Finish off with the resolution of the theme. Theme Identifier – Get help identifying the Theme of a story by answering the questions. Start off by describing what happens in the story. Then, identify the most important event in the story. Explore the characters by identifying how they change and what they learn. Finally, determine what the author is trying to tell you. Conflict Graphic Organizers: Conflict Dissection – Complete this graphic organizer by filling in each quadrant. In the first box, identify the characters of the story. In the next box, identify the time and place of the story. In the third box, identify the problem that takes place in the story. In the last box, identify the solution to the problem. Conflict Type Chart – In the first column, find examples from the story that shows Character against Character. In the second column, find examples of Character against Nature. In the third column, find examples of Character against Self. And finally, in the fourth column, find examples of Character against Society.
