Whereas textbooks can become outdated in no time, any changes to technology or the world will result in updates to this product. Mixed Questions The mixed questions section of each lesson includes a variation of five comprehension, vocabulary and math questions. In addition, key reading strategies are frequently covered including cause & effect, summarizing, compare & contrast and making conclusions. Two or three of the questions will be MCQs and other questions will require a written response of some kind. Full answers and example responses appear at the end of the lesson. Spelling & Vocab Each reading passage contains a variety of words and phrases designed for Grade 4-5 students. Spelling and vocab activities provide the opportunity to build fluency with these words. As it can become quite mundane doing the same activities over and over, each lesson in a set will contain a different spelling and vocab activity . Activities include: spelling games, sentence match-ups, mixed-up text and decoding words from the lesson. Writing Prompts Writing prompts are designed to continue the theme or lessons learned in the story. Students are persuaded to write in a variety of ways and each prompt includes several cues to help. As with the spelling/vocab section, writing prompts will vary. This includes research pieces, reading responses, poetry and creative writing prompts. Full Answer Keys Full answer keys and sample responses are provided so no matter how busy you are, you know you're covered! Mixed question answers provide evidence from the text, math questions contain the relevant workings. Answers are designed for use by the teacher, but also suitable as a handout to the student. Just for Fun Each lesson will have a bonus extension exercise. This is something fun to extend the lesson with. You can find these at the end of each lesson, titled Just for Fun. With this Olympic Themed Editable Birthday Banner resource you can create your own decorative banners using these templates. There are great to list your student's birthdays to celebrate them every month! With the Olympic Rings around them, these banners are a win-win for your class. Because they are editable, you can type your student's names in whichever font you'd like for these to stand out. I print them on card stock, laminate them, and write the names of students and their birthdays on each month with permanent marker. Then at the end of the year, I color over the names with expo marker, clean them off, and use the same banner again the next year. These were design to display student birthdays, but can be used as a classroom banner , to highlight words or letters of the month, holidays, or upcoming events. Since this is an editable resource, teachers are able to write on the banners anything they need. To have a long-lasting resource, print these off and laminate them to use them as a banner . You can write students names on them, or you can use it as a clip chart. There are three different font choices available. To make them last longer, print them on card stock. GRAPHOMOTRICITY ACTIVITIES 1. Introduction As everyone knows, graphomotor skills are the skills that consist of coordinating fine movements made with the hand and fingers to then perform tasks or activities related to writing and drawing. All of these activities provide many benefits in the development of children. 2.Objective The objectives of this activity are based on: -Develop fine motor coordination: Which involves precious and fine movements of the muscles of the fingers and hand, so by practicing these exercises or educational activities, our children or students will improve and stimulate their final motor coordination, a crucial element for later perform complex tasks such as drawing, manipulating, writing and even picking up small objects. -Prepare for writing: As all educational agents know, graphomotor skills are a fundamental and, if not basic, component for the development of future skills that will be needed for writing. By carrying out activities like these, our students will strengthen their muscles and will be able to learn to hold the pencil correctly as well as achieve the necessary and appropriate dexterity to form their first numbers and letters. -They will stimulate your cognition: Graphomotor skills will motivate you to make connections between fine motor actions and the brain. So these activities will make children plan and think about their movements, which will also have the benefit of developing their attention and memory. -Develop visual-spatial perception: It will contribute to the development of this skill, which consists of the perception and understanding of the relationship between objects in space. 3.Order, scheme and stages - Introduce your class with relaxing music, then distribute 1 set of activities per child.
