Letter D Games for Beginning Sounds

This letter D beginning sound game is an interactive way for students to work on words that begin with the letter D. This alphabet game provides students with a fun way to practice on the initial sound of the letter D. The game focuses on the most common sound of the initial /d/ sound. What is Included: * One color gameboard * One black and white gameboard What do you need to play: * One of the gameboards * A die * Something to mark the inner spaces with * A player piece to move around the edge of the board This game can be a single player or a two player game. To play, students will need one gameboard, one die, 20 objects to mark the inner part of the game board, and a game piece for each student playing. First, a student will roll the die and move his game piece around the outside of the board. The student will then cover the corresponding picture in the middle of the game board. The winner or end of game can be determined by one of the following rules below, depending on if the student is playing alone or with a partner. Blending CVC Words Worksheets to practice reading in a fun way. Read and match. Simple and fun activity for CVC blending. SUGGESTED USE Theses can be perfect for literacy centers . Print and laminate and kids can use them with white erase markers but also with playdough or different color strings to add fine motor skill practice to the mix and make them even more fun. You can also use them for homework or early finishers. I find them particularly useful for RTI. They use really great in small group. These worksheets have intentionally simple design and are especially suitable for kids who are overwhelmed and have difficulties acquiring beginner reading skills. Of course they can be used with any beginner reader and are a lot of fun. These CVC blending worksheets can be used all year round as they are not theme specific and you can use them over and over. They are self explanatory and don't need a lot of explanation and preparatory time. They are as easy to get ready as they are print and go as they are fun for the kids. Happy Teaching!

Letter recognition sorting mats. Beginning Letter Sound Recognition. ABC Mats Beginning Sounds Cut and Paste Worksheets This resource can be used in two ways. You can print on color paper, laminate and use as sorting mats. Add velcro to the pieces to make it more fun and easier to use. Add a dry erase marker for the letter tracing activity. You can also use this same resource as worksheets. Kids will cut and paste the pieces to be sorted, then trace the letters and color the pictures. I use them in both was. We use the laminated mats in class as literacy centers or small group activity. And I send the same pages as homework or kids use it as extra practice in class. I like that kids find it comforting to use the same activity in a different version as it is already familiar but also new in a way. It is especially beneficial with kids needing more practice with their letter recognition. If you like this resource you may find other ABC resources in my store useful.
