What is Included:

Each card features a real life image of a bird with the bird's common name listed below the image. There are 44 different birds represented in this resource from all different kinds of habitats.

What birds are in this set?

Birds of Prey: bald eagle, barn owl, hawk, snowy owl

Farm, Domestic, Pet Birds: chicken, dove, duck, goose, macaw, parakeet, turkey

Woodland or Song Birds: bluebird, cardinal, chickadee, crow, magpie, raven, sparrow, woodpecker, wren

There are a variety of ways to use this set of vocabulary cards:

• You can create simple flash cards that can be used to learn the common names of each bird.

• You can create 2-part cards for matching bird images to their name for a Montessori activity.

• You can create a matching or concentration game by prepping out two of each of the bird cards.

• You can create a writing center by using the bird cards as a reference for students to write their own stories.

When to Use:

• Morning Tubs or Baskets - These cards make a great activity for students to work on as their classmates arrive to class.

• Literacy or Writing Center - Simply place these cards in a writing or literacy center for students to use to write stories or label their activities

• Quiet Time Activity - These cards can give students who do not nap during rest time something to look at and review.

These vocabulary cards are a low prep option for teachers to prepare for students. They just need to be printed out and cut apart. They can be laminated for durability if the teacher desires. They can be easily stored in task boxes which allow for easy center set up, clean up and then storage when the cards are not in use.
