Christmas Subitizing Number Sense Mats

Sort Christmas themed counting images with this set of number sense and subitizing math mats. Preschoolers and kindergartners will get a lot of practice recognizing numbers and counting up to 10. Students will be able to practice counting Christmas themed objects, dice, dominoes, tally marks, and fingers!

What Is Included:

• There is one number sense sorting mat for each number up to 10.

• There are six picture cards for each number from one to ten.

How to Use:

Students will count the number of Christmas themed objects on each card. Students will then place the card on the correct Christmas number mat. Add hook and loop fasteners to the pieces and mats so the cards can stick on the mats! You can also place magnets on the back of each number card and use a baking tray to sort the cards by number.

Where to Use:

• Morning Tubs or Baskets - Teachers can place these mats and cards in a morning bin and students can complete this activity while their classmates arrive to class.

• Math Center - Place the cards and mats in a math center for students to complete independently or with a partner.

• Small Group Activity - Teachers can pull aside small groups of students who need extra practice with subitizing and number sense activities to work on these mats to target this skill.

This Christmas subitizing activity is a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. The mats and cards just need to be printed out and cut apart. The teacher may choose to laminate these mats for durability to make this activity reusable.
