Easter Egg Patterns Center

Get students engaged with copying patterns with these Easter egg themed patterning cards. This set of cards have students build Easter egg color combinations by following the pattern on the selected card. The Easter theme will entice students to want to do this activity over and over!

What is Included:

This packet includes 24 copying the pattern cards with an Easter theme.

How to Use:

First the teacher will set up an Easter egg building center by providing students with different colored plastic eggs and the pattern cards. Students will choose one of the patterning cards available. They will then find the corresponding colored plastic eggs to build an Easter egg that matches the egg on their card.

When to Use:

• Math Center - Place the pattern cards and plastic Easter eggs in a math center for students to work alone or with a partner to copy each pattern.

• Morning Activity - The teacher can place the cards and eggs into a morning tub or bin for students to complete while waiting on their classmates to arrive to class.

• Quiet time Activity - Particularly used in a preschool room, these cards make a great quiet activity to provide for non-nappers.

• Small Group Activity - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra help identifying, copying, and continuing patterns to use these cards.

Skills Assessed

Students will demonstrate the ability to copy a pattern as well as the ability to match colors. Students also gain fine motor practice by putting together and taking apart the Easter eggs.

The low prep nature of this center allows teachers to easily get this activity ready for student use. Simply print and cut the cards apart to place them in the desired classroom location. The cards can easily be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage.
