About This Product

These worksheets are great for practicing Idioms, Similes, and Metaphors. There are 4 different worksheet activities. They include:

  • 40 Idiom cards and 40 definition cards-Laminate the cards and use them to play Memory or Goldfish, matching the idiom to their literal definition. Students use the idiom in a sentence after finding a match. The pictures give visual cues to help students remember the idiom's definition. (14 pages in all)

  • Idiom Card Review Pages-These idioms are the same as the ones on the 40 Idiom Cards. Once your students have learned the idioms, you can use the worksheets to assess their knowledge. For these worksheets, students write the letter of the definition next to the idiom. (8 pages in all-this includes 4 answer sheets)
