Figurative language lessons can be fun, especially when learning includes getting up out of your seat. Your grade 4 and grade 5 learners will agree that this set of 20 task cards is definitely a teaching tool worth adding to your ELA curriculum. Designed to focus specifically on IDIOMS, this product will have your learners completing 20 popular sayings that are used in everyday life. On each card is an incomplete idiom and 4 multiple choice answers. Learners choose the word that correctly finishes each idiom. Also included on each task card is a picture that corresponds with the idiom, giving learners a visual representation of the saying. You’ll find this product to be the perfect addition to your curriculum for several reasons. Once the initial prep work of laminating the cards is complete, you can use them as a year-over-year activity. Task cards are a versatile activity which can be used in a variety of educational environments. When the weather beckons you outdoors, give your learners the opportunity to enjoy the fresh air while actively learning about the lesson at hand. If rainy day weather has you hunkered down inside and your learners are full of wiggles, get them up and moving as they work their way around the room completing each card. This product is beneficial for individual or small group work in a resource type setting. Or use the corresponding set of Power Point slidesto instantly make this a whole class learning activity. Each slide is comprised of one task card, allowing you to walk step-by-step through the set of 20 cards. Two separate version of the cards are available. The first is a full-color version, while the second includes a black & white version.
