French Alphabet- Activities

Your French students will be able to review the alphabet in French with these engaging activities

Note that your students should already have knowledge of French words to complete these activities.

Writing activity: Your students will start by writing 10 French words that they can recall for 10 letters of the alphabet.

Listening activity: They will then listen to a recording which gives a French word for each letter of the alphabet and will write it on the poster. They will be able to check and correct they work.

Speaking activity: Students will practise spelling French words in pairs, while answering the question: Comment ça s'écrit?

Cultural insight: The resource introduces students to French Sign Language (LSF), fostering inclusivity. On the poster, they will be able to see how each letter of the alphabet is signed in French and will have the opportunity to sign their name using LSF.
