About This Product
In this resource file, you will find an article about poverty in France, along with a worksheet containing 3 activities linked to the article , as well as an extra video comprehension activity. These activities are aimed at intermediate to advanced learners of French.
The article is structured in 3 parts:
paragraph 1- Difficile: Qu'est-ce que c'est la pauvreté?
paragraph 2- Plus difficile: Qui sont les sans-abri?
paragraph 3- Comment on aide les personnes pauvres
Each of the three activities from the worksheet refers to a specific paragraph:
Activity 1- Using the first paragraph: match up the French to the English
Activity 2: Read the second paragraph and answer if the statements are True or False
Activity 3: Read the third paragraph and answer the questions in French
Extra activity: Watch the video and complete the transcript
A version of the worksheet with answers is also provided.
A Powerpoint presentation is included with sections of the article, link to the video, activities and answers, should you wish to project these on your board.

En France, on est considéré pauvre quand on vit sous le seuil de pauvreté. Ce seuil de pauvreté est de 1015 euros par mois pour une personne seule, de 1523 euros par mois pour un couple sans enfants et de 2132 euros par mois pour une famille avec deux enfants. Aujourd'hui, 8,7 millions de Français vivent en-dessous du seuil de pauvreté.
