On the first page, there is a chart with 12 boxes. Inside each box is a phrase or sentence. students will read each statement and decide if it would be helpful or hurtful to say those words. If the words are helpful, they can color the box yellow. For the words that are hurtful, they will be tasked with rewriting those words in a way that proves more helpful to solve their problem. An answer key is included on the next page.
You may choose to have students complete this independently. It also works great as a small group activity. This is a great activity for a teacher or guidance counselor to implement after a lesson.
