New Year's Resolutions Informative Writing Workshop
About This Product
Happy New Year! Bringing in a new year is an exciting time to share with students. No matter how young or old they are, we get to reflect on the previous year and what we are most excited about for the new year. Young students love learning about what resolutions are and how to make resolutions of their own.
This is a New Year’s Resolution Informative Writing Workshop. It will take you and your students step by step in creating good resolutions for the coming year. It will work well for your upper elementary students in 3rd – 5th grade. You may also find it appropriate for your 2nd grade students. It aligns to the common core standards for informative writing.
This packet will begin with a pre-write in which students will write 3 resolutions they have for the new year. On the next pages, students will begin their drafts to expand their resolutions and write an introduction and conclusion. Students will think of a title and consult with their draft checklist before moving on.
There are 2 pages of writing lines for students to complete their final draft.
A writing rubric and a sample writing are included.
I hope you enjoy!
