About This Product

As springtime approaches and the school year approaches its end, we begin talking about a few important topics and celebrations with our students. From the start of the school year, our students have been able to watch nature change from season to season. Spring brings an exciting new change of pace for us all. It is a season where we celebrate Earth Day and talk about how we can take care of our planet.

This is a Recycling Project Writing Workshop that will focus on teaching students about the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle.

This is great for 2nd - 5th grade students.

There are 2 downloads included in this project:

-Parent letter

-Writing packet

The project will consist of students finding something at home to recycle that they would generally throw in the trash (e.g., water bottle, milk jug, magazines, plastic utensils, etc.).  they will take that object and turn it into something wonderful and useful. For instance, they might take a milk jug and turn it into a flowerpot or use the pictures from a magazine to make an incredible piece of art for their wall. Then students will complete a writing project about the object they have created.

The parent letter is completely editable.

I hope you enjoy!
