Product description

From the author

Create bookmarks with six outline styles in two sizes, arranged as two or four bookmarks per page. The 21-page PDF includes twelve bookmark-template pages, three daily reading logs, preview pages, editing directions and creator information.

The supplied Google Slides link opens the same 21-slide resource. Make a personal copy to add text or pictures, or print the PDF templates blank for students to decorate.

Choose a reading log with book and author plus time spent, book title plus parent signature, or book and author plus pages read. Each includes month, name and date fields.

Teaching tips & learning objectives

Learning objectives

  • Track independent reading over a month by recording the date, book title, and either time spent reading, pages read, or a parent signature in the daily reading log.

Teaching tips

  • Follow the file's five-step editing directions to make your own copy of the read-only Google Slides link before editing any text or images.

  • Choose one of the three reading-log column layouts based on what you want tracked — time spent, pages read, or a parent signature — since each targets a different accountability approach.

  • Print the bookmark templates blank for students to design their own, or add a title or quote in Slides first to create a book- or lesson-specific bookmark before printing.

Skills covered

  • Independent reading tracking — students record the date, book title, and either time spent or pages read in the daily reading log across a month.

  • Bookmark customization — teachers add a title, quote, or image to a bookmark template in Google Slides, or leave it blank for students to design their own.
