Product description
From the author
This product includes drawing and writing activities to accompany the novel The One and Only Ivan. It also includes writing prompts to help with text-to-self connections. Students will do character studies on the main characters of the story (Ivan, Bob, Ruby, Julia) and draw important parts of the story such as Ivan's domain, the Big Top Mall billboard, Ivan's artwork and a Free Ruby! Sign.
The graphic organizers focus on comparing and contrasting and the different perspectives of each character. The graphic organizers are great for whole-class discussions, small or individual group work or informal assessments. The graphic organizers include a compare and contrast Venn Diagram, a chart focusing on how characters changed from the beginning of the novel to the end, and a chart focusing on the perspectives of different characters.
Also included are four short answer essay questions about important parts of the story.
This also includes a Jot Journal to write or draw about the book. Students can use the jot journal to "jot down" what they are thinking as they are reading the book.
This product does not include comprehension questions for each chapter.
