Time to Doodle!

Introduction:

Children will learn about how doodling can be a helpful tool. They will experiment with doodling in various ways and be introduced to a fun graphic novel called, Doodleville by Chad Sell. You may even decide to celebrate the unique holiday, National Doodle Day, on September 3rd, if you happen to come across this lesson around that time of year. Be sure to check out the extension activities at the end of the lesson for resources related to using doodling as a note taking tool and more!

Why Use This Lesson?
Throughout this short lesson, children will be introduced to ways to use doodling to relieve stress, create art, take notes, and more! They will be introduced to a fun graphic novel book series which will hopefully result in a trip to the library to check out more books! Have fun celebrating Doodle Day with the children in your life!
