About This Product
Types of Investment Accounts (USA): 401k, Roth IRA, Brokerage
Teach your high school students about financial literacy and crucial life skills they will need as an adult as you introduce them to five kinds of investment accounts that exist in the United States of America.
How to Use:
This ready-to-go lesson has several parts:
1) Decide if you want to give your students the completed handout OR the version where they have to fill in some information. The handout teaches them about five kind of investment accounts: Traditional IRA, Traditional 401k, Roth IRA, Roth 401k, and Brokerage accounts. For each account students learn about basic rules and the tax implications when investing, growing and selling. Each account has its own pros and cons. You can go over this part of the lesson as a class so students can ask questions and gain a strong understanding.
2) Then assign the two worksheets to your students: vocabulary matching and comprehension questions. Students can work individually or in pairs or small groups to complete these. The matching could also be assigned for homework if desired.
3) A complete answer key is included for easy marking and to remove any guesswork!
