Child Abuse Prevention Month word search puzzle worksheet activity
Child Abuse Prevention Month Word Search - Awareness Activity
I made this word search for my 5th grade class during our April safety lessons. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 important terms about child protection - words like "safe," "trust," "speak up," and "caring adults."
The puzzle helped my students talk about tough topics in an age-appropriate way. We used it after reading our school's safety booklet, and the kids worked on it in pairs while discussing who their trusted adults were.
You'll get:
• Page 1: The word search with comforting, hopeful vocabulary
• Page 2: An answer key for easy checking
I use this when:
Teaching personal safety skills
Preparing for our "Blue Ribbon" awareness day
Needing a calm activity after heavy discussions
The words focus on empowerment and support - "brave," "listen," "help" - not scary concepts. Last year, my students particularly connected with finding "kindness" right after we role-played helping scenarios.
Format: Basic PDF (2 pages)
Teacher Note: Have students star words that describe their own support network.
