Environmental print is any words or images that are immediately visible in our environment. It includes things like signs, logos, advertisements and product packaging. You encounter environmental print all the time, but did you know it can also help us learn how to read? Children around the age of 3 years and above begin to recognize environmental print, such as street signs, labels, and advertisements. Environmental print allows them to learn important sight words that are commonly seen in the environment.
