Patriot's Day Activity, 9-11 Colouring Page, First Responder Unit,
, Not Grade Specific,
The Patriot’s Day First Responder page provides a single colouring image centered on firefighters. A prominent hero message and outlined artwork create a simple commemorative activity that can accompany age-appropriate learning about community helpers and remembrance. Because the topic relates to September 11, the page benefits from calm historical framing rather than being used without context. The activity itself remains a visual colouring task and does not present a full history lesson.

Ten words provide repeated morphology practice. For each one, learners underline the added prefix or suffix and write the root that remains. The two actions require them to separate a meaningful base from material attached at the beginning or end. Selected images are cut out and pasted onto the second page, distinguishing reuse from disposal or material recycling. Page three is explicitly labeled as the completed key and names the intended reusable choices. The physical sort can prompt explanation of a possible second use, although the worksheet itself requests classification rather than a written redesign plan.

Traffic Light Feelings – SEL Self-Regulation Lesson
, Not Grade Specific,
In this 7-slide Google Slides Lesson Presentation, students will learn about the Traffic Light Feelings. This is a self-regulation tool that helps students identify when they are being unsafe, have a big emotion, and need to stop. Red feelings are feelings that are BIG such as really angry, scared, unsafe, or out of control. Students will learn the phrase STOP, SLOW AND GO strategy. The yellow light represents feelings that are silly, excited, worried, stressed, or frustrated. The green light represents feelings that are good for class, with peers in the class or when they need to focus on a task. There is a sorting activity with 18 sorting cards. Some of the scenarios on the cards are; kids who are too excited and silly with their parent, a child who is very upset and visibly crying, 2 kids arguing, 2 kids fighting, a child who is calm, a child who is reading, a child who is proud about graduating, a child who is raising their hand, a child in their own personal space bubble, a child who is frustrated about breaking a toy, a child who is thinking, a child who is running from a crocodile, children who are jumping in excitement, a child scared about talking in front of an audience, etc. First, you can show the 7 slide presentation with animations throughout the presentation. Next, the students will work in partners/group to do the sorting activity. They will get a sorting sheet and 18 cards. Print off a sorting sheet and 18 cards for each partnership/group. Lastly, invite students back at their own desk to colour in their traffic light colouring sheet and think of the different feelings represented in each light. There are 7 slides in the presentation for the class and there are 5 slides that contain the sorting activity, sorting cards, and colouring sheet.
