This is a Busy Learning Uppercase and Lowercase Letters Activity Packet. This was designed and most beneficial for young learners including preschoolers, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students. There are 7 pages included for you to print. Pages 1-3 consist of the uppercase letters of the alphabet. Pages 4 and 5 consist of the lowercase letters of the alphabet. These pages will be cut out. Students will use the lowercase cut-out letters and match them to the correct uppercase letters. This is a great literacy center activity as well as an effective small group activity with the teacher. Identify the Number and Counting with One-to-One Correspondence with GOLDFISH!
Math, Early Math, Numbers, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Activities
Count the Goldfish is a resource for students to practice counting numbers 1-10 as they identify the number and count out the goldfish to go into each bowl. This resource is ideal for preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade. It is also helpful for homeschool students and for parents who want to practice identifying numbers and practice one to one correspondence with counting with their children. This is an engaging activity for young learners to practice recognizing their numbers one through ten as they identify the number, say the correct number then place the exact number of goldfish into the fishbowl. This can also help with dexterity as they place the goldfish into each bowl. It also helps with the fundamental math of pointing to each goldfish and counting up as they place the goldfish with the correct number. Once the correct number of goldfish have been placed into the bowl, students can eat their yummy snack or repeat the activity a few more times. Teacher Tips: The preferrable way to complete this activity is to laminate these worksheets so they can be repeated over and over without destroying the worksheet with the goldfish on top. Another tip is to try copy the worksheet on blue paper to make it more interesting for students as well. This activity can be done at snack time as well with a pile of goldfish in the middle of the table and students need to place their goldfish onto the correct number in each bowl before they can eat their snack. Place different goldfish bowls (3 different worksheets are included in this packet) at different tables so it is more challenging for all students.

Read CVC short a words
ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Phonics, Reading, Preschool, Grade 1, Activities
Wouldn't you love to get your students excited about reading? Through this engaging and interactive Powerpoint presentation, your class can easily learn and practice CVC words with the short a sound. This fun activity can help teach them multiple reading skills like blending, letter sounds, and matching the sounds we read to the picture we see- and with its colorful visuals and simple instructions, you can't go wrong! Simply put the Powerpoint into presentation mode and watch the car move from the first letter to the second letter to the third letter. As the teacher is clicking to go to the next slide, students should be making the letter sound that corresponds with the location of the race car. In the 4th slide of each word, an arrow appears showing students the word they read. Reading CVC words is an important strategy when introducing many phonological awareness skills emerging readers need to learn. CVC words follow the simple pattern of consonant-vowel-consonant and make it easier for students to transform individual letter sounds into short and simple familiar words. The short vowel sounds are the foundation of fluent reading. When students begin learning letter names and sounds the first vowel sounds we teach them are the short vowel sounds. The CVC short a words students will read in this activity are: can, jar, bat, cat, hat, rat, jam, and bat (like the baseball bat). RF.K.2d Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme words (CVC words). RF.K.3b Associate the long and short sounds with common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels. You can find corresponding activities for CVC short vowel e, i, o and u on Teach Simple at the following links: You can find corresponding activities for CVC short vowels a, e, o and u on Teach Simple at the following links: Short e race car Short i race car Short o race car Short u race car
