We are always looking for ways to teach our students new skills. Being able to tailor instruction to their learning styles is just one effective way to increase student engagement and set students up for success. Many of our students, from year to year, are visual and auditory learners. Most children (and even adults) can attest to their ability to better retain information that they have learned through music and song. Because of this, my resources seek to teach students skills through song. This particular resource is a1700 to 1773 History Song . This can be used in your social studies classroom with your elementary students. Included in this resource: -- 1700 to 1773 History Song MP4 video Student will love learning and reviewing U.S. history with the many details included here. You can use this video to introduce this segment in time for America and then use it again to review later on. This downloadable PDF educational activity can help learners develop their sorting and classification skills. In this activity , learners are presented with a set of picture cards that have different pictures that vary in shape, size, color, and other features, and are asked to sort them based on specific criteria. For example, learners may be asked to sort a set of cards based on their function. This could include things we drink, things we ride in. Another way to approach this exercise is by sorting based on their features. For instance, learners may be given a card "Things with fur" and "Things with wings" then given a set of 12 individual cards 6 cards with pictures of things with fur and another 6 cards with pictures of things that have wings. This helps learners develop their ability to observe and categorize objects based on their physical characteristics. In addition to sorting by features and function, learners may also be asked to sort by classification. Overall, the "Sorting by Feature, Function and Classification" exercise is an engaging and effective way to help learners develop their critical thinking skills, classification abilities, and attention to detail. By practicing this exercise, learners can enhance their ability to analyze information and make informed decisions, which can be beneficial in many different contexts, from academics to everyday life. In this resource, you will teach students how to solve a variety of friendship dilemmas. This game is played like Apples to Apples. There are 18 examples (with pictures) of friendship dilemmas. There are 36 friendship strategy cards. Some of the examples for the dilemma cards are; your friend likes to copy you, your friend brags, your friend does not let you play with other friends, your friend cheats at games, your friend shared something private to someone else and other examples. For the strategy cards, some examples are; talk to your friend about how you feel, listen to their perspective, think about your part in the problem, talk to a parent, talk to an older sibling, distract yourself with something fun, and many other strategies. For the game, divide students into groups of about 4-5. All players get 5 strategy cards. The judge begins by drawing a friendship dilemma card and reads it and shows the group. Each player chooses one strategy from their 5 cards that could be a way to handle the friendship dilemma. Players place the strategy cards FACE DOWN so the judge does not know who placed which strategy card. The judge chooses which one they would most likely use in that situation. It helps to know what the judge might choose! Important: All strategies are valid, there is not one BEST strategy, only which one the judge might most likely choose. The next round, all players take another strategy card as they always need to have 5 strategy cards with each turn. The played strategy cards go back under the strategy pile. someone else is the judge and the game continues as time allows. There are 2 mindfulness coloring sheets to offer to the students after the game. This is an engaging game to play after a friendship skills lesson or conflict resolution skills lesson.

The Monsters, Inc. movie guide combines writing and economic terms so students can find examples of economic terms in the movie and provide evidence of how these concepts are used. Using movies or movie guides in the classroom can make learning more interactive and relatable for your class. Movie guides help students focus on important details throughout at the movie and think critically about what they watch. Movie Synopsis: Monsters Incorporated is the largest scare factory in the monster world, and James P. Sullivan (Sully) is one of its top scarers. Sully is a huge, "intimidating" monster with who aims to keep his spot on the leaderboard, but not at the expense of those he loves. His scare assistant, best friend and roommate is Mike Wazowski, a green, opinionated, feisty little one-eyed monster.
