Playing the Game After the title slide, the first game starts. In the first game there are ten words in a circle. A picture will appear and you need to press the correct word related to that picture. In the second game, there are six stars containing one word each. Again, one picture will appear. Press the correct star that corresponds to the picture. Incorrect answers will dim and correct answer will flash. Press the arrow button to move onto the next word. About the Game This powerpoint contains two different games. Both practice reading and remembering key long E phonics words. In the first game, ten words will be on the screen at any point so you can include those not participating in the game yet to read those. In the second game, six words are on the screen. Each picture has bold colors and includes easily recognized pictures. Each activity can be used in a literacy center for students to practice letter recognition. What is Included: There is an instructional page with printing instructions. There are letter K posters with various letter K words. There are handwriting task cards that allow students to practice writing the letter K as well as words that begin with the letter K. There are beginning sound clip cards that allow students to practice clipping the images that begin with the letter K. There is a sorting activity where you sort pictures that begins with K from words that do not begin with K. The letter K sorting cards that can also be used to play memory, matching, or concentration games. These cards can also be used during a lesson in a pocket chart as well as for a center display. When to Use: All of the activities make great literacy centers, by placing each set of activities in the center and letting students complete activities alone or with a partner. These activities make great morning tub activities. Just place these activities in morning bins for students to complete as their classmates arrive to class. Skills Assessed: These activities assess letter recognition skills, beginning sounds, handwriting, and sorting skills. Each activity in this set is low prep. The words in this set follow a CVC or CCVC spelling pattern. There are also picture cards that correspond with each word and sentence. To complete this activity, students will read each IT word or sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner to complete this activity. How to Use these IT word Family Mats: The students can simply lay the images on top of the word or sentence. They can be placed in a file folder utilizing hook and loop fasteners to attach the images. A magnetic activity can be created by using a baking sheet and magnets to affix the images. This set includes 6 different sets of clip cards: 2 sets of numbers 2 sets of finger counting 2 sets of dot patterns Who are the clip cards for? Clip Cards – Kindergarten & Preschool, First Graders, Early Primary Students and Special Education Children Great for solo work, study stations or at home with a small workspace. Objectives In other words, children associate quantities to its representation in the numbers or other counting methods e.g. dot patterns, fingers patters and so on. Pinch clothespins or paperclips to help build finger and hand muscle. With the self-control feature, kids can independently resolve their answers and ↑ have more confidence. How to prepare the cards Print the cards on thick paper, or options are to make them durable by laminating them. To turn on the self-control feature. Snap back the right columns of all of your cards. Place it on the back and laminate the cards. Take sheets on three single clip cards (one for each person) They were then able to choose their answers using clothespins or paper clips on the kids. How does it work? Which picture is the child looks and count on the card. The child selects the right answer out of 3 possibilities (number /dot pattern or finger counting) by putting a clothespin or paper clip on the correct answer.
