Reindeer Fine Motor Activity with Connecting Cubes

Get those fingers working with these Reindeer Fine Motor Connecting Cube mats. Students will be challenged to use connecting cubes to build different objects associated with turkeys. What is included: There are three different cards for students to build reindeer themed objects. The cards include building two different reindeer as well as building a winter forest habitat. How to Use: Students will choose one of the reindeer themed cards. They will use the colored connecting cube blocks and create the same object that is on the card. When to Use: Fine Motor Center - The cards and blocks can be placed in a fine motor center for students to complete together or with a partner during center time. Morning Tubs - These cards and blocks can be put inside a morning basket for students to work on while waiting for classmates to arrive to class. Quiet Time Activity - This activity works well for students who do not nap. Once classmates are asleep, students can work quietly building the shapes on these cards. The cards in this set are a low prep activity. The cards need to be printed and cut apart and, if desired, laminated for durability. Once made, the teacher just needs to add the connecting blocks to the cards and the center is all set. The cards can be stored inside a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. Using a larger pencil box can allow the blocks and cards to be stored in the same container. Skills Assessed: This activity helps build up fine motor skills by putting together and taking apart the blocks. This activity determines if students can look at and copy an image using blocks. This activity determines if students can match colors by making sure they choose the correct colored blocks according to the picture.

The holiday season is always a great time to celebrate cheer and spread love. In our classrooms, we get the great opportunity to celebrate many of these holidays with our students. Christmas is one of those holidays. It is a great time to learn about the holiday, enjoy it together, and incorporate some learning along the way. If your young learners need additional practice with their numbers, this Holiday Hop resource will do the trick. This is an editable presentation with 20 slides – one slide per numbers 1-20. Since this is editable, you can always change the numbers. You may want to do higher numbers. You could even include numbers to allow for skip counting with older elementary students. You can choose to do a variety of things with this activity! For example, you can print each of the cards and tape them to the floor in your classroom, in the hallway or outside on the concrete. Students can hop from one number to the next as you call it out or as a game leader calls out the next number. Students of all ages will enjoy this resource! There are 10 puzzles/activities with the theme of Christmas and winter. There is a Santa maze, a reindeer maze, a sled themed word search, two different black and white spot 10 differences, a colorful spot the difference page, a black and white find the hidden objects, and an elf themed page with 4 different Christmas themed mazes. There is also a color page with multiple activities on it such as a tree maze, color coded coloring picture, count the ornaments, match the shapes, find the differences in the reindeers, draw a snowman, an ice skating maze, a Christmas themed word search, match the mittens, and a sudoku like puzzle. The benefit of the black and white pages are students can then also color the objects themselves. These are wonderful for Christmas/Winter parties in the classroom, brain breaks, quiet time, early finishers, and just all around fun activities for kids.
