Short Story Graphic Organizer

Short Story Graphic Organizer
ELA, Reading, Writing, Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, Graphic Organizers, Teacher Tools

If you are looking for impactful resources for your reading students to complete, I have just the resource for you. If your students are studying short stories or getting ready to write their own short story, this is a Short Story Graphic Organizer that will benefit them. This resource is great for upper elementary and middle school students. The objective is for students to correctly complete a graphic organizer with all the necessary details. This is a 1-page printable that features a graphic organizer in the shape of a triangle to best represent the format of storytelling. This chart can be used in two different ways. If you want to assess student’s ability to identify these things within a story they are reading, this is a great way. another great way to implement this chart is to guide student writing if they have been tasked with writing their own short story. By using this chart, students are more likely to create an organized and compelling piece of written work. Students will start on the left side of the triangle and work their way up the line with 3 separate events meant to detail the rising action. By the time students reach the tip of the triangle, they will determine what they want their climax, or dramatic turning point to be. Students will write two separate events as they climb down the right side of the triangle for their falling action. They will finish with their resolution. This can be an independent task for students but you may also choose to have students put their brains together to complete a small group short story. I hope you enjoy! French Revolution (2005) History Channel: Complete Video Guide

French Revolution (2005) History Channel: Complete Video Guide
Social Studies, History, History: Europe, History: World, Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, Activities

Video overview: On July 14, 1789, a mob of angry Parisians stormed the Bastille and seized the King's military stores. A decade of idealism, war, murder, and carnage followed, bringing about the end of feudalism and the rise of equality and a new world order. The French Revolution is a definitive feature-length documentary that encapsulates this heady (and often headless) period in Western civilization. With dramatic reenactments, illustrations, and paintings from the era, plus revealing accounts from journals and expert commentary from historians, The French Revolution vividly unfurls in a maelstrom of violence, discontent, and fundamental change. King Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, Maximilien Robespierre, and Napoleon Bonaparte lead a cast of thousands in this essential program from THE HISTORY CHANNEL®. Narrated by Edward Herrmann (The Aviator, Gilmore Girls), The French Revolution explores the legacy that--now more than ever--stands as both a warning and a guidepost to a new millennium. These 56 teacher-generated questions are designed to help students focus in on key information during the video. The video is titled "The French Revolution" and can be found here: French Revolution History Channel Documentary (2005). This video guide is ready to print and use! Comes with a completed answer key and main character chart ! Enjoy! Clipart Credit (French Revolution Title): By Cartoon Ed, Lovely Jubblies Teach, and by Prince Padania
