This is a Let's Talk About School Board Game. All you have to do is print this game board and grab a pair of dice. The game board can be printed in color or black and white. This simple game board is great for your English-speaking students and your ESL students who are building their language skills in the English language. Students can work in pairs or groups of 3-4. You can also pull students in a small group with you to better assess their progress and mastery. These board games are great because they come in a variety of themes and topics, so students will be able to increase their vocabulary. You can choose to do a few different activities when you use these board games : 1.Students can take turns rolling the dice. They will move that many places on the board. Whatever space they land on, they can read the question out loud and answer it verbally with their partner or group. 2.Same as number 1, but the partner can answer the question instead of the person who rolled the dice. 3.Same as number 1, but both partners (or everybody in the group) can write their answer down on paper. 4.Same as number 1, but students can practice writing down the question and their individual answer to the question. If you choose to make it a competition, then whoever reaches the end of the board first wins!

Reading and Blending Segmenting Mats

Students will have a blast blending and reading one syllable words with these phonics mats. These phonics mats are easy to differentiate for students learning different phonics skills. By using the cards and sounds that students have already mastered or are currently practicing to build, blend, and read each word. There are recording sheets for students to write the words they create. What is Included: There are 4 letter sound cards for beginning sounds, ending sounds, blends, digraphs, vowel teams and diphthong Phonics playdough mats for 2, 3, and 4 sound words. Phonics road mats for 2, 3, and 4 sound words. Recording sheets for recording real and nonsense words Recording sheet for students to write the word, draw a picture of the word, and then to write a sentence with the word. How to Use: Print each set of sound cards on different colored card stock. Make all the beginning sounds one color, all the vowels another color, and all the ending sounds a third color. Put each stack of phonics cards face up in the middle of the phonic mats in the right order. Have the student blend and read the word made by the cards. The student will then remove one of the letter cards to create a new word. The students can then record the words on one of the recording sheets. This step is optional. Where to Use: Literacy Center - These mats make the perfect literacy center . By placing the mats and the cards in a center students can practice reading words independently or together. Small Group Activities - These mats are great small group tools for a teacher to use with students needing more help or extra practice with reading and blending single syllable words. The phonics mats cards do need to be printed and cut apart, but the mats, themselves, are no-prep.

Boomerang Dot Paintings This project combines art and Australian history in a fun lesson focused on Aboriginal art of dot painting. Students will get to create their own boomerang-shaped artworks using dot painting, giving them a hands-on way to learn about Indigenous Australian culture. This resource includes a 15-slide PowerPoint presentation that explores Australia, including its Aboriginal peoples, native animals, the importance of boomerangs, and the art of dot painting. This presentation also walks you and your students through the art project , with step-by-step visual instructions to help students create their own boomerang dot paintings. Two printable PDFs are included to help your students. The first is a boomerang stencil that students can use to help them with the shape of their paintings.
