This slide deck and work packet is designed to teach students what a S.W.O.T. analysis is in the entrepreneur and business world, and what they look like in action. A S.W.O.T. analysis is a strategic planning tool used to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with a business, project, or decision. It provides a assessment of factors inside and outside of the business that can impact the health of a business. More simply, a S.W.O.T. analysis is a way of thinking through a new idea for business through 4 considerations: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Each of those domains are explored in detail in this unit of study. SEL: WATERING CAN Mindfulness Breathing Calming Activity Teach students how to manage their emotions and calm themselves using the trace and breathe technique. This social-emotional learning (SEL) activity provides a watering can picture for students to trace with their finger while taking slow, deep breaths. Use after exciting activities to refocus students. Laminate pages for individual student use. Students can select a personalized picture from various themes like animals, foods, transportation, and spring. Steps include tracing the picture while inhaling, pausing, exhaling slowly, and repeating. Place in a classroom calm-down station. Also used for whole-class SEL when students need redirection. Address individual needs by allowing self-regulation. Practice mindfulness and self-soothing skills.
