How to Write an Email Bundle: Vocabulary Handout and 5 Sample Scenarios
Special Resources, Life Studies, ELA, Life Skills, Business, Career, Writing, Grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
How to Write an Email Bundle: Vocabulary Handout and 5 Sample Scenarios is a great resource as it contains 5 different guides to write polite emails. We spend so much time in the classroom teaching our students creative writing and essay writing, but when they have careers in the future, what kind of writing will occupy most of their day? Emails of course! In this assignment five specific kinds of email that high school students may need to write are high-lighted and explicitly explained. This product contains a useful one-page handout with all the necessary vocabulary to get started with emails. Then, 5 realistic scenarios that high school students might encounter now or in the coming years are included. For each scenario, rules of thumb are suggested, and a specific email task is assigned. - Emailing a teacher/coach - Emailing a job application - Emailing a potential reference - Emailing an apartment listing - Emailing a postsecondary institution How to use: Use the handout to teach your students the key vocabulary components of every email: to, carbon copy, blind carbon copy, subject, salutation, body, signature, attachments, compose, forward, reply, and reply all. Students need to know the function of each of these printables /parts-of-and-anatomy-of">parts of the email (especially to avoid the dreaded "Reply All" mistake that we have all made once or twice). Then, you can focus on one specific email example. Talk to your students about how in most of these cases they are requesting some kind of favour or help and therefore need to be conscientious and polite. Discuss how to choose an appropriate subject line and salutation with this in mind. You may want to write an entire sample email together as a class (perhaps typed on an interactive whiteboard). Finally, students are assigned a specific task to practice this type of email. They could write by hand on the provided sheet or type it up on their computer.

Math, Patterns, Early Math, Numbers, Grade 1, 2, 3, Activities, Games
Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing skip counting by 10 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on skip counting in 10s! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. Once that turn is over, the Playing Square may not be moved to cover a different block. This resource includes 5 different bingo board, in colour as well as black and white. Math Vocabulary Charts
Math, Early Math, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, Charts, Teacher Tools
Math Vocabulary Charts The Math Vocabulary Charts are an engaging set of tools for teaching fundamental arithmetical operations in the classroom. This resource focuses on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions - key pillars of early mathematical education. Designed for First to Fourth Grade Levels This teaching resource is optimal for clarifying terminologies that are crucial to understanding word problems. Each chart exemplifies a particular numerical operation and utilizes vocabularies in places where numbers typically exist in operation-solving scenarios. For instance – 'addend + addend = sum' beautifully illustrates the vocabulary involved with addition. Perfectly Sized Charts The charts are conveniently sized at 8.5x11" when printed in landscape mode—ideal for hanging on a classroom wall or bulletin board as constant math reference points. You can also miniaturize them and print six per page which can then be incorporated into student's notebooks or binders posing as quick reference guides right at their desks. An Essential Understanding Vocabulary Understanding vocabulary related to arithmetic operations is fundamental to performing them accurately, especially while dealing with word problems. A scenario where a scholar struggles between differentiating 'quotient' as belonging to multiplication or division could inhibit their problem-solving capabilities! This product comes standard PDF format making it easily printable using any desktop printer—essential technology available within the reach of educators worldwide—making our teaching resources truly accessible.
