In this FREE resource, you will get 3 visual wheels for a calm down, take a break, and reset area. This can be used in any classroom or counseling setting. There are 3 visual wheels; one for feelings, calming down strategies, and expected behaviors to rejoin the classroom activity or go back to class. On the feelings wheel, there are 6 feelings; mad, sad, excited, silly, worried and confused. On the strategy wheel, the strategies are; slow breath, stress ball, wall push-ups, sensory strip, talk to an adult and drink some water. On the reset/expectations wheel the prompts show; raise hand, respect personal space, hands to your side, listen, getting on task, and eyes on the teacher. These wheels can be used to help a student who is dysregulated in the classroom These handouts are the perfect visuals for any calm down area. One of the things you need to add as a material is a sensory strip or you can create your own using different types of textures and materials for students to touch and move their fingers one. You also need to add some type of stress ball that the students can squeeze if they choose to use the stress ball strategy. Teaching kids at a young age to self-regulate and manage their BIG emotions is crucial to helping them learn in the classroom. Students who are dysregulated cannot learn or attend to the classroom lessons. They first need to calm down and lower the level of energy and emotion. Sometimes students are not necessarily angry or sad, but they are silly and excited to the point where they are disrupting the learning of others. This tool can help those students as well to recognize tools they can use to calm down and focus in the classroom, thus allowing them to learn and others as well.

This resource is a comprehensive lesson that uses 20 clothes-related vocabulary words. First off, you can introduce these words by using the PDF -based presentation. With the arrow keys, you just move from one word to another to make your students familiar with them. Next, You can hand out the vocabulary lists. Beware that these are made with color, so in order to be eco-friendly you might want to use black and white ink. Once the students have taken these lists home, they can do the vocabulary test in their next class. They can practice with the words by utilizing the included flash cards. These just need to be printed, laminated, and cut. Beware of sharp edges though. You can use the curved edges version to avoid annoying pinches. Finally, use the Wacky Words activity to have a really good time in class. With this, all the letters are mixed up. Students love this.

Fry's First 100 Sight Words Fill-in-the-Blanks

If you are looking to practice Fry's sight words, then this is without a doubt the resource for you and your students. In this resource, Fry's First 100 Sight words are all featured. First of all, this set consists of a bunch of flash cards. These cards come in different styles, colored and with or without sharp edges. Just choose the set that is right for you. Then Print, laminate, and cut the cards as you please. The next way to practice these sight words is with the vocabulary lists. There is one that shows all of these words in alphabetical order, while the other list shows each word in order of frequency. And then there is the fill in the blaks worksheet. With this you can really test your students to see if they remembered all of the words and their usage. Finally, use the word search to practice these words in a more fun way. Have fun!

IR: Phonics Workbook Reading Made Simple

Reading Made Simple — Free IR Phonics Workbook These little workbooks have been a quiet favourite with families using Reading Made Simple for some time now. Each one focuses on a single sound and prints on just one sheet of A4 paper — double-sided, folded in half to make a neat A5 booklet that children can hold and work through at their own pace. They are entirely optional. The phonics programme works perfectly well without them, but many parents and teachers find them a useful companion — either as structured practice or simply as a source of ideas to dip into when needed. Tested by real children: One 5-year-old user is quoted as having said, 'The worksheet is the best bit of my lessons!' Other parents have noted that their child likes the worksheet because 'they think it is easy'. When learning is broken down into small, achievable steps, with no curve balls to throw them off track, every child can say, 'I can read!' When I hear these reviews, I know that I have succeeded in my aim to write a phonics curriculum that can help children of all abilities learn to read and spell. These little workbooks are just one small part of what there is to offer. Please do check out the website for more information. Each workbook offers a gentle mix of activities built around the target sound. Children will read short passages that practise the new sound alongside words from sounds already taught, track and identify the sound within words to support both reading and spelling, practise spelling and sentence writing, and work through simple editing exercises where they spot and correct mistakes. These small editing tasks are particularly worthwhile — they encourage children to look carefully at words rather than guessing from context. The workbooks are particularly well-suited to younger children just beginning their phonics journey, and to older children with special educational needs who are still building their foundational reading and spelling skills. That said, they will not suit every child. Some will find them too long, others too straightforward. Use your own judgement — pick the activities that fit, leave the rest, or set them aside entirely. There is no obligation and no right or wrong way to use them. To print: print double-sided, flipping on the short edge. Fold in half to create your A5 booklet. The answer page at the back is optional. One sheet of paper. One sound. Everything a child needs to practise, consolidate and grow in confidence.
