This 'ir' digraph Phonics Presentation is a taught lesson especially suitable for those who have special needs or need a slower pace. This video aims to build phonemic awareness of the IR sound, and give plentiful exposure to the new sound so that children can begin to sound IR words out. Because we want pupils to learn the sound thoroughly to decode before the child becomes familiar with the words with the IR sound, which are few, we use some words that the child may not have heard of, but will increase vocabulary, I find that it is too easy for children to learn IR words by sight and not be familiar with the phonics. Special features of the 'ir' PowerPoint lesson This IR video lesson is one of a series, teaching phonics systematically, to enable every child to succeed. There are no distractions/annoying background music for the special needs child to have to 'block out' before s/he can learn - no jingly music, no comic pictures. Nothing moves quickly. Everything is explained very simply. Sound buttons are provided for use if necessary. What is included in/with the 'ck' Digraph PowerPoint? This 'IR' video is a narrated lesson. It is just like having your own phonics teacher! There are 35 slides. We begin by introducing 'IR' and hearing and segmenting orally words with the IR sound. The video then goes on to help the child to sound out words with ir to spell. Finally, there is a fun challenge to help the child track the IR sound in words - an important skill for the special needs/dyslexic child: words float onto the screen and the child must indicate when they see IR and when they do not. How can the ‘IR' video be used? It can be used in multiple ways: It can either be used by the child, with support from an adult, as well as to give the parents a feel for what is necessary - i.e., for training purposes. It can be sent home for a child to watch with his/her parents after seeing it in class - this will then act as revision as well as training the parent as to what is necessary to help the child. Practicing Wonders Words to Know is often a bit of a boring task for most students. That's why we made it a bit more fun. First of all, you can guide students through the book along with the vocabulary list. Here it shows the part of speech, the word, the definition and an example sentence. This way, students don't even need their books anymore to practice all of the words at home. Another fun element is the word search. This word search is based on the definitions, so the student is not given the correct answer right away. This way, they really have to dig into their memories to come up with the correct answer. After all of the practicing is done, it is time to do the test. You can present this by first giving the definition and then to let the student fill out the correct answer. The second part is a fill in the blanks exercise.

This product covers the 2016 Virginia (VA) Standards of Learning (SOL) 3.11 The student will identify and draw representations of points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles. (note that this will also provide good background knowledge for the 2023 VA SOL 3.MG.4 The student will identify, describe, classify, compare, combine, and subdivide polygons. a) Describe a polygon as a closed plane figure composed of at least three line segments that do not cross.) It contains notes pages on lines, line segments, angles, rays and points. It also has notes pages on naming these geometric figures. There are practice pages for each topic, with an answer key included. The notes pages come in two sizes. The first size is a full-page size. You can print them as-is, or you can print them two to a pages. This is what I do as it saves on paper and the sheets will fit in a notebook. The second size is formatted to fit on a standard composition notebook page. Additionally, there are two links included in the pdf: one which opens a digital version of the notes, and another that opens a slide show version, optimized for a projector or interactive board. In both cases, which you click the link, you will be prompted to make a copy, which you can then use with Google Slides or download and use with Keynote or PowerPoint. What's included?
