These unique sorting tasks offer a captivating approach to practicing words that conclude with digraphs in a lively literacy center. Three diverse sorting tasks are available to enhance the ability to read and recognize words that incorporate the ending digraph CK. Sorting Tasks Involve: Differentiating words belonging to the ACK family from those not in the ACK family. Separating images associated with the ACK family from those not related to the ACK family. Sorting between legitimate and fabricated ACK words. These low-preparation sorting activities are straightforward to set up. The educator will simply need to print the pages, cut out the sorting cards, and laminate them, if preferred. Laminating enables this literacy activity to be reused continuously in your literacy centers. Usage Methods: Establish a file folder sorting activity Affix magnets to the pieces to devise a cookie tray sorting activity Situate them in a box for a basic sorting activity To construct a file folder activity , position the two sorting mats on either side of a file folder. Utilize the word and picture cards to sort on the mats. You can affix hook and loop fasteners to the cards and mats, enabling the cards to stay in place once sorted. CVC Literacy Centers

This is a set of print and go CVC Literacy Centers that is perfect for early kindergarten students. It is a PDF of 42 pages. Your students will practice beginning sounds, middle sounds, ending sounds, rhyming words, and building CVC words. The cards are fun, bold pictures that are easy to understand. Students will match letter cards to picture cards and build CVC words with boxes showing a picture. It includes three worksheets that could be used for assessments. It does not include an answer key. Implementation Format: These activities could be used in a small group or partner activity or as an individual activity . It is perfect for literacy centers because the activities can be completed in about 10-15 minutes. You can have students complete more than one activity if you want a longer literacy session. Suggestions for use: The center activities include cards that can be used in a pocket chart or sorted on the floor, desk, or table. You could also attach velcro or magnets for sorting on white boards, cookie sheets, etc. Students can use magnet letters or dry erase markers to build CVC words in word building boxes.
