Social Studies (First Grade C–I) 30 books Educators, both in public schools and homeschooling, know the value of comprehensive and targeted teaching resources. This unique collection of leveled books has been designed specifically for first-grade students. Based on a foundation of Fountas and Pinnell vocabulary and Rebecca Sitton spelling words, these books are crafted with care to meet the curriculum standards for this grade. Each book in this collection is more than just a reading exercise. Alongside the text, every book offers activity pages to enhance a student's literacy skills. Whether it's reading, language, spelling, or writing, these activities ensure a holistic learning experience. To make it easier for educators to align with their teaching goals, the specific skills, concepts, and vocabulary addressed in each book are clearly laid out on the first page. This makes lesson planning straightforward and ensures that educators can pinpoint the exact resources they need. For those looking to diversify their resources, these texts also find a place in other collections. While all the texts are part of the Grade Level Books based on their grade appropriateness, some are featured in the thematic collection titled "Famous African-Americans in U.S. History" spanning grades 1 to 3. Additionally, due to their popularity and effectiveness, select books from this collection are available individually as Top Sellers. In total, this collection provides 111 pages of valuable content to enrich the learning experience of first graders. For those who wish to expand further, there are additional Grade Leveled Books and Thematic Collections available. This is a well-rounded resource designed to bolster the literacy skills of students and make the teaching process more engaging and productive for educators. This fantastic resource will introduce your class to Lewis Carroll's enchanting children's story 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. In our shortened summary of this wonderful book, your kids will travel with Alice as she follows the little White Rabbit, who has a watch, down a large rabbit-hole. They will hear all about the strange adventures that befall her when she enters this peculiar place; and meet an assortment of extraordinary characters, including the wise, old caterpillar, the sneezing Duchess, the grinning Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, and the passionate Queen of Hearts. The story is beautifully illustrated throughout and is guaranteed to capture your class's imagination. When you have finished reading our retelling of this classic story, there are a set of questions for your kids to answer, to see how well they have understood the text. These questions will help your class practise key comprehension skills, like summarising the main ideas, identifying key details in the text, drawing inferences about a character's feelings or thoughts, comparing and contrasting, predicting using evidence from the text, and explaining vocabulary. Finally, the resource ends by encouraging your children to write their own silly, nonsense story, where impossible things happen that make no sense. This is a fun activity that is suitable for ages 7-10 (grade 2-5). It has 44 pages, of which pages 2-17 are story, pages 18-33 are comprehension questions, pages 34-39 give space to write a silly story, and pages 40-44 are answers.

This 43-page resource teaches students to draw 11 different dinosaurs while reinforcing grammar skills. After following step-by-step visual instructions to draw dinosaurs like T-Rex, Velociraptor, and Triceratops, students will then write original sentences using subjective pronouns. A pronoun chart explains proper usage. Differentiated pages allow students to illustrate their unique dinosaur scene and sentence. This activity develops art techniques, critical thinking, reading, writing, spelling, and science skills. Use during grammar lessons or for independent practice. Challenge students to create more complex drawings and sentences as they master basic skills. Pair with other directed drawing packets for more cross-curricular fun.
