About This Product

This Daffodil Lifecycle video tells the story of how a Daffodil grows.

Beautiful, original photos will captivate children making an everyday spring sight into an object of awe and wonder.

When can it be used?

It is most suitable for use especially in spring when Daffodils cannot be missed and are so appealing to children. Take a bunch of Daffodil buds into class to stimulate enquiry! Help your children to ask questions and find answers. How do they grow? Do they grow from seeds? Do they make seeds? Learn to name the parts of the Daffodil.

Who is it for?

Take the humble Daffodil and transform it into an engaging Science lesson this spring that your pupils will love.

You will be able to cover much of the UK National Curriculum for Science (Plants) without your pupils knowing they are learning.

Use with KS1/Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 and special needs.

What does it contain?

This video contains original pictures and simply tells how the Dafoldil grows from bulbs underground, telling the story through the seasons, from winter through into spring and beyond to the next winter.

It can be used as a springboard into further learning, for example, to compare the Daffodil with other plants with which the children are familiar.

How is it to be used?

This is a taught lesson lasting only 4 minutes 27 seconds. Therefore it is suitable for use with a wide range of ability levels.

  • Learn where Daffodils come from and how they grow.

  • Encourage your pupils to ask questions and find answers.

  • Take your learning to a new dimension by exploring the natural world out of doors with your pupils this spring.

  • Bring learning to life!

A PowerPoint version of this video can be found in our Daffodil Lifecycle Lesson Pack, which contains a range of helpful resources to bring your lesson to life!
